The Bodhisattva with a weak body, after bathing in the Nairanjana River, accepted the porridge offered by Delightful Joy, and was praised by the King of Seasonal Food. That is adorned with a broad, verdant garland of roots, flesh, and blood, the body covered with reddish-yellow limbs, with petals that flutter like lotuses, like a string of beads mixed with blue lotus petals. Then, taking slow steps, the wise one came like a golden mountain, and sat down under the Bodhi tree for the sake of enlightenment. Then, the young maidens together, taking up bows of flowers, came from all places of the heart's origin, in order to disturb his mind. Some scattered Shirsha flowers on the ground, meditating in front of him; some watched the swaying fruits, some lingered a little; some whispered in their friends' ears, with smiles preceding their words; some gazed at the wise one with coquettish expressions. Others, with the smoke of flowers, veiled their shy eyes, their garments slipping from their marks, their belts loosened. Where is this moon-like beautiful youth? Where is this asceticism? Alas, this is contradictory! It is wise to experience worldly pleasures first, so that you may obtain the fruit of perfect maturity. It is only out of a desire to benefit you that I speak, why do you subject your body to untimely toil? Thus, some who were submissive spoke, for those who are powerless, this harm is too great. Thus, some spoke words of desire. To those women who wish you to fall into evil destinies, why do you, wise one, not comply? Thus, some spoke openly to him. Some plucked at the lotus petals with their fingernails. When the Bodhisattva did not cast a disdainful glance at them, those who were originally messengers of Mara, manifested in various forms, saying: Frighten them, make them leave this place! Then, from the lion's face, the sound of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马转写:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) was emitted, again and again, sparks of fire flashing, released from the burning face. Those demonesses emerged from his face, falling and...

In an instant, he spoke: The fully bloomed flower of sorrow, Was thrown upon the head of the Bodhisattva. Who, with a fiery wheel, Transformed the fully bloomed group of lotus stamens, Into a garland of blue lotus heads? Others, clenching their teeth, With reddish-brown eyebrows like lightning, Descend upon the snowy peak, Transforming into a heap of white lotuses. Others, with yellow eyes, Holding swords, raise their arms, Like the shadow of an iron pillar, Become instantly unmoving. Then, the Bhagavan, having sat beneath the Bodhi tree, Those who act arduously with the fire of flashing eyes, Being fully urged by the non-white friend of progress, The forest fire extinguished as if near water. When the one with the flower banner, along with his retinue, had departed, the Bhagavan arose from the fourth dhyana and thought: If there were a previous existence, It would not be entered by actions. There is no birth arising from actions. Even without actions, the embodied beings', Form and fortune, etc., How could one desire to obtain them at will? However, if there were previous actions, How could they arise from the unborn? Seeing such contradictions, the wise, Will not speculate about the beginning of samsara. If beings were without cause, Who would speak of actions and self? Without cause, even liberation, Would be eternally established. Without cause, even this body, Would not be created. Some say that Ishvara is the cause, Unwise people speak thus. If Ishvara were made by another, Then from where does Ishvara himself come? However, if born without creation, Why cannot other things arise from that? Therefore, saying that Ishvara is the cause, Is meaningless for my sake. Thus, this wheel of samsara, Revolving again and again, At no time can the wise, Determine its beginning. The realm of space, connected with wind, fire, water, and earth, is called the body. It relies on the realm of consciousness, performing activities such as going and coming. Thus abiding, it is said to be called birth. Then, the Bhagavan spoke thus.

Having attained the perfect enlightenment of cessation, he dispelled the obscurity unknown to many. Having arrived in the city of Shakya, he clarified the excellent path for those with pure food. Thus, the Bhagavan, although capable of completely entering Nirvana for the sake of pacifying the suffering of all beings, has revolved in samsara for an extremely long time. The great-minded one, for the sake of enlightenment, gave alms as if handing them over, and for a long time reached the other shore of wisdom, the holy one dwells in bliss. Alas, if the Dharma destroys darkness, this speech of the Sugata arises from discernment, because it is seen by views pervaded by defilements, this person will not change the basis of dependence on others. The stainless speech of the Tathagata also exists. This ignorant person who has gone to the evil path, completely revolves. What dew cannot be swallowed by the moon marked with a rabbit? The inferior wisdom has passed away, how can it not fall? Desiring perfect and complete enlightenment, the conduct of the Bodhisattva is, this which was done by the Lion Attendant, this garland made by those who desire the Dharma, is the garland of the Jataka tales. Whatever small virtue I have accumulated, may it, through this, cause these beings to aim for the desire of the Sugata and attain liberation. Excellent conduct, mane, hundred givers, the one with eyes, the one who has accomplished all meanings, in this thirty-five, are the Jataka stories of the Great Sage. Having understood many parts of the treatise on reasoning and sound, the Buddha also spoke. The later beauty and the moon of the wise man of Gasa, illuminated the earth, poetry, and light. Knowing the fault of being harmed near Kache, desiring to go outside, at the King of Snow Mountains, the Lion Attendant abandoned his life and went to the heavens. The garland of Jataka tales composed by the King's son, the teacher Lion Attendant, is complete. The monk Palden Lodrö Jungne, known as the wise one, arranges Dharma and wealth for sentient beings, and is familiar with many Dharma categories such as epistemology, scriptures, and tantras. These actions of the lord of beings, both are immeasurable and immaculate.
