These are the vows of the sons of the Holy Mother. Again, there are two kinds of sons of the Holy Mother: Great Mountain and those who are revered by many. Among them, the root vows of those who are revered by many are: will arise, arising and will cease, ceasing and will arise, arising and will die, dying and will make, making and will be cut off, cutting off and will go, going and will distinguish, distinguishing is existing, like that are the root vows of those who are revered by many. Again, there are also two kinds of Great Mountain ones: those who are supreme in Dharma and those who are good in path. The root vows of those who are supreme in Dharma are: not relying on birth and birth, not relying on cessation and cessation. The same is true for those who are good in path. Regarding the sixth city, some say it is a branch of the Great Mountain ones. Others say that they consider it to be a branch of those who are revered by many. Thus, they are the four divisions of the sons of the Holy Mother. Those are the eighteen divisions that have become in the order of following the teachers, those are the fundamental discriminations. Other internal differences are many, and should be said. For example, the differences in the tenets of the Sarvastivadins also have four kinds, namely the differences of things, characteristics, states, and transformations. Among them, the first kind of transformation of things is the view of Venerable Dharmatrata. That is, when the dharmas pass through time, it is only the transformation of things, not the transformation of essence. For example, when a golden vessel is destroyed and made into something else, it is only the shape that changes, not the essence. Just as when milk turns into yogurt, the taste, ability, and maturity change, but the color does not, similarly, when dharmas arise from the past to the present, it is the thing of the past that disappears, not the essence. Similarly, when transforming from the present to the future, it is also the thing of the present that disappears, not the thing of the essenc

They say, "It is not so." Transformation of characteristics is that of the Venerable Melodious Voice. He says that when dharmas are affected by time, that which possesses the characteristic of the past is not also without the characteristics of the future and the present. Likewise, the future, possessing the characteristic of the future, is not without the past and present. For example, when a man becomes attached to one woman, it is not that he is devoid of attachment to the others. They say, "It is not so." Transformation of state is that of the Venerable Meaningful Friend. He says that when dharmas are affected by time, expressing them differently is a transformation of state, but not a transformation of substance. For example, when counting a single tree, one says "one," but when it belongs to a hundred, one says "hundred," and when counting to a thousand, one says "thousand," just like that. They say, "It is not so." Being different is that of the Venerable Buddha-deva. He says that when dharmas are affected by time, depending on what comes before and after, they can be expressed differently. For example, a woman can be called "mother" and also "daughter." These four views all assert that everything exists as it is, therefore they are called "Sarvāstivāda." Similarly, some say there are seven conditions: cause, object, immediately preceding, dominant, action, food, and basis. Similarly, for the tamed, there are four minds of realization, the individual truths. Others say there are eight, knowledge of the Dharma and subsequent knowledge, but not the wisdom of individual realization. Others think there are twelve. Still others think there are sixteen. Similarly, in mindless sleep, there is no mind. For the remaining associated factors, there are. In the cessation of perception and feeling, there is the cessation of perception and feeling. For the remaining, there are associated factors. Just as the mind becomes weary, one enters the samadhi without investigation. When joy becomes weary, one enters the samadhi without joy, just like that, when thought and feeling become weary, one enters

And also enters into the attainment of the cessation of consciousness and feeling. Thus, some say that the mind's attainment of the distinction of objects is the attainment of Nirvana. Some say that becoming without aggregates is Nirvana, and not the actual meaning of things. Some say that what is by nature unspeakable is Nirvana. Thus, some say that the immeasurables are limbs of enlightenment. Some say that there are three great fruits, namely the fruit of others' minds, the great fruit, and the immeasurable fruit. Thus, when going to beings by the power of afflictions, the companion is karma. Thus, if that is abandoned, then one will not go to those beings again. Also, some say that one initially desires to go by the power of past karma. Some say it is by the karma of how one is accustomed. Some say that one is accustomed in five ways, namely the first four and the distinction of causes. Some say that fire burns from the past's near attainment. Some say it is present karma. Some say it is from disagreeing with any of the five obscurations. Some consider the form realm to be four realms and four colors. Others consider it to be a single color. Thus, others consider the person to exist. That is also different from the aggregates. It is not just the aggregates, but rather observing what is combined with the near attainment of the aggregates. Without near attainment is Nirvana. Thus, by sequentially examining the four noble truths, one will realize them, and in the intermediate state, no disagreeable mind arises. With the limb of enlightenment focused on suffering, one enters without fault. Relying on the impermanence of formations belonging to the desire realm, with thirteen minds, one obtains the fruit of entering the stream, abiding in that dharma without decline. Thus, so is the stream enterer. An Arhat also has the dharma of decline. The intermediate state also exists. The past and future also exist. The meaning of the sole virtuous dharma is Nirvana.
