Therefore, do not grieve over this, and having many enemies is incompatible with diligent discipline, so do not do that, this is a concluding statement. When the teachings of the Blessed One, the Tathagata Shakyamuni, had not yet declined, the faults of his disciples were also small, so the Blessed One briefly taught them the Pratimoksha Sutra in this way with three verses: Cease to do all evil, perform all good, purify your mind, this is the teaching of the Buddhas. Good is the discipline of the body, good also is the discipline of speech, good is the discipline of the mind, good is discipline in all places. A Bhikshu who is disciplined in everything is completely liberated from all suffering. Guarding speech, well restraining the mind, not doing unwholesome deeds with the body, if one well restrains these three paths of action, then one will attain the path spoken by the sages. That is how it is. Among them, the phrase "Cease to do all evil" shows the training in higher morality. The phrase "Perform all good" shows the training in higher wisdom, because abandoning all afflictions is ultimately good. The phrase "Purify your mind" shows the training in higher mind. The four disciplines, such as "Good is the discipline of the body," show the perfection of discipline. The phrase "Completely liberated from all suffering" shows the near result obtained by those who uphold discipline. If so, can discipline liberate one from all suffering? Therefore, it is said, "Guarding speech, well restraining the mind," etc., because perfect discipline purifies the gates of the lower realms and attains the noble path, thereby liberating one from all suffering, therefore this is the far-reaching result obtained by those who uphold discipline. Thus, through brief and extensive explanations, the recitation of the Pratimoksha of the Seven Buddhas has been shown, and now, in order to show what should be diligently done through a concluding method, (the following is about) Buddha Vipashyin and the crest jewel protecting everything.

The name God of Gods, from the perspective of the nature of Dharma, is because in the age when the five degenerations are rampant, he perfectly accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings. From the perspective of worldly fame, it is because even the gods bow down and prostrate. The untamed tamer, incomparable. It is because he tames the noble beings who are to be tamed without error with the three types of taming: peaceful, violent, and a combination of both. The name World Protector is the protector of the three realms, because he saves by doing immeasurable drought and flood deeds. The name Savior is because he has attained mastery over all Dharmas with his power, or because he saves the beings to be tamed at the time without wavering.

Oh! Here, the Buddhas and, the Buddhas' Shravakas also revere. This means that the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, etc., mainly focus on the Dharma and Vinaya. The Buddhas' Shravakas also revere the Vinaya. By having reverence and faith in this, may you attain the unconditioned Dharma. This is the concluding statement that by having reverence for this Pratimoksha, one attains Nirvana, the unconditioned Dharma. How does one attain the unconditioned Dharma by having reverence for this? Therefore, one should strive and emerge, enter the Buddha's teachings, like an elephant destroying a grass hut, one should crush the army of the Lord of Death. Whoever, with mindfulness, practices this Dharma and Vinaya, having completely abandoned the cycle of birth, will end the final suffering. Thus it is said, "One should strive and..." means one should strive. "Emerge" means that in order to definitely emerge from Samsara, one should go to a solitary place such as a monastery, which is the concluding statement. "Enter the Buddha's teachings" means to the place where the Four Noble Truths are taught. "Enter" means one should be manifestly diligent as if one's head and clothes are on fire. "Like an elephant destroying a grass hut" is a metaphor for crushing the great army of the Lord of Death, just as an elephant destroys a grass hut. "Lord of Death" means death. "Army" means the retinue of craving, etc. "Crush" means one should destroy. To show the benefit, "Whoever, with mindfulness, practices this Dharma and Vinaya, having completely abandoned the cycle of birth, will end the final suffering." Thus it is said, "With mindfulness" means completely abandoning non-mindfulness. "Dharma" means the Noble Eightfold Path. "Vinaya" means the nature of truly accomplishing. "Practice" means to follow and cultivate. "Samsara" means that because the cycle of birth is the main thing, the cycle of birth is the root of the suffering of Samsara, which is birth. Thus, this is meaningless, so if there is birth, then there are enemies such as old age and death, sickness and suffering, bondage and imprisonment.
