Although it is not, the rays of light are exceedingly superior. If the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, in their transcendent wisdom, how do they view all dharmas? Just as the stainless sky is boundless and infinite, so too, suchness appears as one taste. Why? Because the signs of attachment have vanished. If transcendent wisdom appears as one form, would it not become a mistaken, not a true wisdom? Therefore, all of these are false, merely labeled as names and signs by the unreal, completely conceptualized. Therefore, the cessation of mind and mental factors is not reasonably the true Bodhi. Furthermore, the Madhyamikas say that all dharmas are like illusions, and that is the Middle Way. If these are established as non-existent by valid cognition, then nothing can be proven to exist. For what is not valid cognition, what need is there to even mention appearance? If everything is non-existent, then what is taken up and what is established? Again, if one says that everything is neither existent nor non-existent, that is the Middle Way, that is also unreasonable, because existence and non-existence are mutually exclusive characteristics, and by negating one, the nature of the other is established. Therefore, it is unreasonable to negate both. Moreover, knowing everything in the way of being false, all that is known is also false, so not even a little direct perception is established. Therefore, since the three modes are uncertain, all reasons will become like seeming reasons. Furthermore, all refutation and establishment for oneself and others are not established, because they all depend on valid cognition, and valid cognition is not accepted. If one refutes merely with words, then others will say, "You are worse than cattle, with the views of the materialist heretics." Thus, the person and the Madhyamika are refuted. The intention of saying that all dharmas are without inherent existence, etc., is definitely explained in the Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra, and that is also the view of Maitreya, Asaṅga, and Nāgārjuna. If you accept valid cognition, then it is established in the way of the three natures, give up saying that everything is false! If you say that we do not accept valid cognition, then because there is no valid cognition, arguing is

The speaker is indeed a laughing one. This speech of ours has unreal pervasive thoughts, so taking that, we apply it to the aggregates and so forth. All refutations and establishments are done by means of valid cognition. Moreover, whatever arises dependently is explained as emptiness. That is a designation made by cause; that is the Middle Way. Thus it is said. Furthermore, the nature of eliminating blue and so forth is also false because there is harm. Moreover, that elimination is manifestly established as the very nature of being free from the delusion of consciousness. The clear one is the very natural nature of giving clarity, because there is no establishment by the deception that places this experience as delusion. Because of constantly changing into other, it is desired because it is selfless; because it is with its parts, the permanent thing is refuted, but the dharma that is impermanent and continuously abides cannot be refuted because it is established by valid cognition. The cunning fool, whatever dharma and whatever general characteristic pervades and does not pervade, even seeing the difference between cow and substance, denies it, and he himself does not abandon the difference between entering and leaving, those who use illusion, saying that darkness arises from the flame, saying that is like saying that wine is medicine for wind disease, and thinking that wine is also medicine for bile disease, if so, then that itself will become a fault, so it becomes the preventer of self-arising, the self-arising preventer is also that, that is, a consequence. If it is said that pervasion is not established, then it is the same, so hereafter, seeing the forced denial of its kind, do not say self-reproachful words. Furthermore, blue and so forth are another mode, so they are also made by deception, and because they are so, their experience also becomes confused. Therefore, there is an opportunity for harm to enter into blue and so forth, but not into the clear one. In the Great Dharma Mirror-like Great Vehicle Sutra, it is also said: Twenty-eight kinds of unreal views also appear, such as the view of the sign of non-existence, the view of slandering imputation, the view of slandering pervasive thought, the view of slandering suchness, and the view of
