Monks, having heard this, they will not be afraid or discouraged. Otherwise, they too will gradually learn from being human like this, and thus possess immeasurable and inconceivable physical and verbal discipline. I myself, having become human, will gradually learn, and undoubtedly, I will obtain perfect physical and verbal discipline. Therefore, one should reflect on one's own faults and errors, not the path of others. One should not be resentful or angry towards those cruel and immoral beings, but should be especially close to them, with a mind of love and a desire to help. Even if others strike with hands, clods, sticks, or weapons, one should not be disturbed in mind. What does it matter if a sinner utters harsh words or retorts? Likewise, one should not be harmed even by the slightest pain arising from insults, anger, and so on. Having mindfulness with five limbs, that is, having mindfulness with the former limit, means that whatever faults have occurred from what was taken up in the past, those should be corrected according to the Dharma. Having mindfulness with the latter limit means that whatever faults will occur in the future, those too should be corrected according to the Dharma. Having mindfulness with the middle limit means that whatever faults have occurred in the present, those too should be corrected according to the Dharma. Doing things in advance means that one should be very diligent from the very beginning, before a fault occurs, so that a fault does not occur. Some say that a fault will never occur again. Acting together accordingly means that one should abide in this, having confidence in doing things in advance, so that a fault will never occur in this. Not boasting of virtue, not concealing evil, having few desires, being content, enduring suffering, having a state of mind without discouragement, being without pride, not being distracted, having extremely peaceful conduct, and completely abandoning all the teachings of making a living by wrong means such as flattery. Thus, one possesses these ten limbs.

A Bodhisattva who abides in the discipline of moral conduct becomes a moral conduct that is well-disciplined. For example, not looking at past desires, not being particularly happy about the future, not being attached to the present, being particularly happy with solitude, making speech and conceptualization completely pure, not despising oneself, being subdued and patient, being mindful, and having rituals and a completely pure livelihood. The discipline of accumulating virtuous dharmas is to accumulate any virtue, no matter how small, with body, speech, and mind for the sake of enlightenment after having taken the vows correctly. In particular, it is to engage with great joy in listening, thinking, and meditating on tranquility and insight. Similarly, at all times, speaking gently to the lamas, prostrating, rising, joining palms, acting with respect, serving, caring for the sick with compassion, giving praise to those who speak well, praising those who have qualities as they are, rejoicing with a joyful mind in all the merits of all beings, examining separately and enduring all the faults committed by others, dedicating all virtues to the unsurpassed and perfectly complete enlightenment, making various true aspirations at all times, making offerings to the Three Jewels with all kinds of vast offerings, constantly abandoning carelessness in order to strive for virtue, guarding the four trainings with mindfulness and awareness, guarding the doors of the senses, knowing the measure of food, striving without sleeping in the upper and lower parts of the night, relying on noble persons, relying on virtuous friends, completely knowing and seeing faults, completely abandoning faults, confessing sins according to the Dharma, and practicing, protecting, and increasing virtuous dharmas that are in accordance with such aspects.

Therefore, if one abides in this precept of accumulating virtuous dharmas, then the method of virtuous dharmas will be very easily accumulated. If one does not accept even a slight thought of enjoying desirable pleasures, what need is there to mention more? One should not accept the arising of afflictions and near afflictions that cause the breaking of precepts, such as attachment and hatred, as well as stinginess, jealousy, anger, and resentment. If others are nearby, one should not accept the arising of anger, universal torment, and a searching mind. One should also not accept the arising of laziness and carelessness. One should also not accept tasting the flavor of absorption and the arising of afflictions that lead to absorption. One should thoroughly understand the five places as they are: the benefits of virtuous results, the causes of virtue, the perversion of virtuous results, the non-perversion of virtuous results, and the obstacles to accumulating virtue. In this regard, A Bodhisattva who sees virtuous results as virtues seeks the causes of virtue in order to accumulate virtue. One should thoroughly understand perversion and non-perversion as they are, so that after obtaining virtuous results, one does not see permanence in impermanence, and so on, up to not seeing self in selflessness. One should also thoroughly understand obstacles and completely abandon them. In this way, by diligently engaging in the ten aspects of the six perfections, such as generosity, one quickly accumulates virtue in all ways. Furthermore, there are eleven types of precepts for the conduct of sentient beings. A Bodhisattva who abides in all aspects of the precepts for the benefit of sentient beings possesses all aspects in each and every aspect. In this, the work for the benefit of sentient beings is near, that is, for those who have arisen with suffering such as illness, one provides help such as nursing the sick. Here, in order to help them with the mind...
