is universally arising, not merely in one place in one direction, but it means everywhere, at all times, in everything. The term "what" is a general indication, for the purpose of completely encompassing the nine types of precepts. The precepts of bodhisattvas are taught in nine aspects: the precept of intrinsic nature, the precept of all, the precept of practicing austerities, the precept of all doors, the precept of noble beings, the precept of all aspects, the precept of eliminating poverty, the precept of happiness in this and other lives, and the precept of complete purity. Among these, the so-called precept of intrinsic nature, the precept of intrinsic nature is the precept of intrinsic nature, it is the very nature of the precept itself. And intrinsic nature is to fully uphold and follow. This should be understood as having four aspects: receiving correctly from others, having completely pure superior intention, restoring if it is broken, and generating respect and abiding in mindfulness in order to prevent it from being broken. Among these, the two, receiving correctly and having completely pure intention, if a bodhisattva falls away from the training, then relying on others and oneself, shame and knowing shame will arise. Restoring from transgressions, and not being broken, the latter two will make this precept completely pure and without regret. Similarly, receiving correctly from others, and restoring if it is broken, is abandoning pride, and the effort not to degenerate is completely pure intention. Therefore, this person, feeling shame and embarrassment towards others and oneself, will therefore protect all precepts. Because of protecting, there will be no regret. Among these, these three dharmas will not cause transgressions to arise, and the third should be understood as rising from falling away from the precepts. Everything arising from the mind is an indication of complete upholding and effort. Thus, this is the precept of intrinsic nature of the bodhisattvas.

Having protected, through proper acceptance and subsequent learning, it becomes virtuous for the benefit and happiness of oneself and others. The bodhisattva's training is immeasurable because it completely encompasses immeasurable trainings. Because it manifestly abides for the benefit and happiness of all sentient beings, it is for the benefit of all sentient beings. Because it enables the attainment of the fruit of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, it should be known that its result and benefit are great. The so-called "all ethics" refers to all ethics, because it relies on the aspects of householders and renunciates. It has three aspects: the ethics of discipline, the ethics of gathering virtuous dharmas, and the ethics of benefiting sentient beings. Among these, the ethics of discipline is the acceptance of the seven classes of individual liberation vows. Among these, due to the distinctions of monks, nuns, probationary nuns, male novices, and female novices, there are five aspects, namely, the five aspects of renunciation. The aspect of householders is twofold, namely, the distinction between laymen and laywomen, these two being the two aspects of householders. The proper acceptance of one day and one night is not taught here because it is not asceticism and is not separated from desire, and because it does not have a long-term continuity, so it is not suitable here. It will be taught in this way: the individual liberation vow is a branch of the bodhisattva vow and should be known as one. Therefore, for those who possess other individual liberation vows and have become vessels capable of properly receiving the bodhisattva vow, these words of training should also be given, this is its meaning. For this, if it is merely the ritual of abstaining from killing and so on, that is not yet a person, and for those who have not abstained from these actions, they are also not vessels capable of properly receiving the bodhisattva vow. Considering that "with pure intention, it will be completely destroyed," it was first taught that one possesses ethics. Therefore, this bodhisattva vow is called all ethics. Such an ethics of discipline

By abiding in this, one will completely perfect the aggregate of ethics. Whenever someone renounces the kingship of a universal monarch and goes forth, they will not regard the kingship of a universal monarch as being like grass and filth, because their mind is completely pure. Others are not like that, because inferior people go forth for the sake of desires and livelihood. They will also not be particularly pleased with the desire to fully obtain mastery over vows in the future. They will also not practice celibacy with aspiration for that purpose. With correct wisdom, they will completely see desires as being like entering a forest with various great fears, and therefore will not enter. They will not taste the great gains and extensive honor of all those who possess great desires in the present time as if they were tasting vomit. What need is there to mention inferior things for inferior people? They are only very happy with extreme solitude, and even in the assembly, they will abide with a mind of solitude. They will not think that merely keeping the precepts is sufficient, but they will strive to manifest and master the immeasurable samadhis of the bodhisattvas by relying on the precepts. Even when staying in the midst of bustle, they will not accept any bad words or harsh words. Even when staying in solitude, they will not think of any bad thoughts. Even if they are acting under the control of forgetfulness, they will also generate extreme regret and seeing faults from time to time. Whenever bad words and bad thoughts arise, they will immediately and quickly generate mindfulness, and they will also obtain the mind of not doing, therefore they will abandon them. From being accustomed to abandoning, gradually, just as they previously liked to act, they will also like not to act in the same way, and they will also abide in a way that is not in accordance with acting. The grounds for training of the bodhisattvas who have entered the Great Earth (the first bhumi) are vast, immeasurable, inconceivable, long-lasting, and extremely difficult to do.
