Those who are free from desire are the realm of form. Those who are free from desire from the realm of form, but not free from desire from the formless realm, are the formless realm. "Mind-only" means being free from objects. Merely mind-only is a synonym for mind and mental factors that are free from the apprehended and the apprehender. "Establishment" means showing. This shows that the three realms are established in mind and mental factors themselves. For example, even if it is formless, it is shown as establishing the sphere of infinite space and so on as different. Alternatively, "to the Great Vehicle" refers to the "to" of location, thus showing that in the scriptures of the Great Vehicle, it is called "Mind-Only." The remaining explanation is the same as before. Therefore, in the Great Vehicle scriptures, establishing the three realms as mind-only itself gives rise to the meaning of a vow or undertaking. For this explanation, it must be understood that eliminating the apprehended and the apprehender, etc., is a necessary necessity. In order to attain the Great Vehicle, through both scripture and reasoning, it is shown that the three realms are mind-only itself. For those who say that, temporarily, in order to show through scripture, it is said, "O sons of the Victorious Ones, this three realms," and so on. Or, according to the second explanation, in order to refute how it is determined that "it is shown as mind-only in the Great Vehicle," it is said, "O sons of the Victorious Ones, this three realms," and so on. In the Sutra Pitaka it is said, "All three realms are only mind," meaning that there is nothing that is not associated with form, there is no unconditioned dharma apart from consciousness, and there is no apprehended or apprehender. For one's own school, this is temporarily the scriptural authority. For those who are in other treatises, reasoning is stated. Scripture is an offering, and because words are few, it should be established first. Even on the side of mind-only, even if there is no collection of sounds or names, etc., the consciousness of words, etc., itself is scripture. Thus, for seeing things as they are,

It arises from the empowerment of the teacher of beings, who possesses the qualities of gathering. Therefore, because it comes from elsewhere, it is called "Agama" (scripture). Others should also definitely acknowledge this: that the generality of sound is the word, not the particularity of sound. The generality of sound is also a part of what is apprehended by knowledge; apart from that, it does not become a real thing. Therefore, the knowledge of the aspect of the generality of sound itself will be shown as Agama. Here, the vow is only consciousness (vijñaptimātra). If the term "only mind" (cittamātra) appears in the Sutra Pitaka, and someone doubts how that can be a source, then mind and intellect, etc., are mentioned. This is not without meaningful connection to each other. That is, mind, intellect, consciousness, and intelligence are all synonyms. A word without a different cause is called a synonym. For example, the word "sequence" indicates the meaning of synonym. The reason for stating four synonyms is to avoid confusion with the terminology of the scriptures. In any case, from this explanation, the word "intelligence" (vijñāna) is spoken, and the word "mind" (citta) in the Sutra Pitaka, these two include the eight aggregates of consciousness. What will be said below, "This consciousness appears as an object," is also not contradictory to this. Thus, it is accepted that the aggregates of consciousness appear as objects. If the three realms are only mind, then the things that arise from mind would also become non-existent. To dispel this doubt, "That mind also," etc., is mentioned. That is, the mind that is the cause of the establishment of the three realms is considered in the Sutra Pitaka to be together with associated factors. Or, what is said as mind in the Sutra Pitaka is regarded in this explanation as being together with associated factors. "That mind also" refers to the cause of the establishment of the three realms, or what comes from the Sutra Pitaka. "Here" refers to the Sutra Pitaka or the explanation. "Together with associated factors" refers to those associated factors that are associated with the mind, such as feelings, etc. Because it operates together with associated factors, it is an associated factor.
