It is unreasonable to admit that there is no ultimate truth, because even in conventional truth, things would become non-existent. If there is no basis, it is not possible in conventional truth. Therefore, these two kinds of extreme assertions are unreasonable and should be abandoned, these are the words of the teacher. Thus, all knowable things are of the nature of the completely imputed, so there are no things. Consciousness arises dependently, so it is admitted to be real. Consciousness arising dependently is indicated by the word "change." If there is no external object, how can consciousness itself appear in the form of an object? The external object is the cause of generating consciousness with the appearance of self, so it is considered as the objective condition of consciousness, but not merely as the efficient cause, because that would be no different from the immediately preceding condition and so on. These five aggregates of consciousness are focused on accumulation, because they are similar to the form of accumulation. Accumulation is only the sum of parts, and there is nothing else besides that. If these parts are separated, there will be no consciousness of the form of accumulation. Therefore, without external objects, consciousness will appear in the form of accumulation. The collection of atoms themselves is not the form of atoms. Even when the atoms are not collected, there is no difference in nature. Therefore, just as atoms are not collected, accumulation is also impossible to be perceived. Some people think that individual atoms that do not depend on others cannot be perceived by the senses, but mutually dependent senses are perceived by the senses. For these people, whether in dependence or non-dependence, there is no difference in nature, so what is perceived by the senses or what cannot be perceived by the senses will become the same. If the mutually dependent atoms themselves become the object of consciousness, then the different forms of vases and walls, etc., will not appear in consciousness, because the atoms are not their forms. The appearance in consciousness is one thing, and the object is another form, which will become too extreme, so it is unreasonable. Atoms
