How can shape be distinguished, just as the ground cannot be distinguished? For the time being, how can the shape of its circles and collections be distinguished, just as shape cannot be distinguished? Then there is no other substance. For a dark cave or a distant gathering, neither can be distinguished, and if one clings to something unclear as to what it is, what appears there? Therefore, it should be recognized that at that time, one clings because the color is unclear. Therefore, the manifestation of shape is not established. Some say that the movement of the mind that focuses on it is the manifestation. Then, why is it necessary to say the movement of the mind that focuses on it? It is said that the movement of the lips and so on also changes. Then, what is this "movement"? It is the transfer to another place. What is the sense-sphere? It is the sense-sphere of form. Saying that this is what has been transferred to another place, where does this come from? Because it is determined by the characteristic. For fire, the sun, hail, grass, etc., even in the case where, immediately after contact with the cause that produces color, they are separated, the characteristic produced by the action of producing color cannot be determined, and those are not other either. For a burning flame connected to long grass with similar combustible parts, the characteristics of the others cannot be determined either, and those are not other either. However, if the action of producing color does not occur immediately upon contact, then it will not occur later either, because there is no difference in the cause. If other flames do not arise for other combustible parts, then the size, brightness, and heat characteristics of the flame will disappear. Therefore, since the characteristics cannot be determined, it is not reasonable to definitively grasp that "this is this." Then, is it because there is no cause for destruction? For the mind and mental factors, as well as sound and so on, and flames, what is the cause of destruction? Likewise, there will be none for others. If it is said that the cause of their destruction is their own impermanence, then why is it not accepted for others as well? Just as others do not have those,
