If asked, by what intention can the teachings be established in selflessness? In this way, sentient beings can be established in selflessness. If explained in this way, sentient beings can be established in selflessness, as six consciousnesses arise from the six senses. Although it is accepted that there is one seer up to the toucher, it is also known that there is none. Therefore, those who are tamed by teaching the selflessness of sentient beings can establish sentient beings in selflessness. Furthermore, the teachings can establish all phenomena in selflessness. The word "furthermore" refers to the explanation of mere consciousness. How can phenomena be established in selflessness? It means that this mere consciousness appears as forms and other phenomena, but it can be established by knowing that all phenomena of the nature of forms and others are without self. If it is said that all phenomena are completely non-existent, then mere consciousness should also be non-existent. How can it be established? It means that phenomena are not completely non-existent. In this way, phenomena can be established in selflessness, because of their self-nature of imputation. Why? Because the self-nature of all phenomena imputed by children, their realm of the Buddha of selflessness, is an inexpressible self-nature, so it is not non-existent. In this way, mere consciousness is also established as mere consciousness because of the self-nature imputed by other consciousnesses, and because of the realization of selflessness. Therefore, in all phenomena, it can be established in the selflessness of phenomena, not by completely denying the existence of things. If it is different from this, then other consciousnesses also become the meaning of other consciousnesses, so mere consciousness is not established, because all consciousnesses have meaning. With this intention, the Blessed One taught that forms and other sources are different. If forms and others exist, but they do not become the objects of separate consciousnesses, how should this be understood? It means that it is neither one nor an object, nor many extremely small particles, nor a collection of them. In this way, tiny particles are not established. How can it be taught as it is said? It means that if forms and other sources, forms and others become the objects of separate consciousnesses, then they are one, like the Vaibhashikas and others.

Or examining it as an entity with parts, or if many minute particles or those minute particles themselves gather into one, then, that single one is not an object, because it does not possess any nature of having parts other than the individual parts. The many are also not an object, because they are not considered as individual minute particles. Those that are gathered together are also not an object, because in this way minute particles cannot form a single entity. How can they not form? Like this: When six are joined simultaneously, the minute particle becomes six parts. If from six directions, six minute particles are joined simultaneously, then the minute particle will become six parts, because where one is, the others will not appear. If the six are also in one place, the aggregate becomes the size of a minute particle. If the place of one minute particle is also the place of the six, then, because everything is in one place, all aggregates become the size of a minute particle, because there is no difference between them, so no aggregate will appear. The Kashmir Sarvastivadins think that this fault will occur, they say: minute particles do not combine because they have no parts, but aggregates do combine with each other. To those people, it should be said: those aggregates of minute particles are not other things different from them. If minute particles have no combination, by what does their aggregate exist, that it tends towards the name of combination? Because there are no parts, do not say that they cannot combine. If aggregates also do not combine with each other, do not say that minute particles cannot combine because they have no parts, because it is not admitted that aggregates with parts will also combine. Therefore, minute particles cannot become a single entity. Whether or not you want minute particles to combine, whatever has different directional parts, that cannot be one. The eastern part of a minute particle is different, even to the lower part, if the parts of the directions are different, then how can its nature be a single minute particle? How can there be obscuration and being obscured? If each minute particle does not have different directional parts, then when the sun rises
