Thus, the world that is inverted by the sleep of habitual imprints of inverted conceptualization sees the meaning that is not true, like a dream. Until awakening, it does not realize that it is non-existent as it is. When one obtains the antidote to that, the wisdom of non-conceptualization that transcends the world, and awakens, then the pure worldly wisdom obtained from that manifests, and one understands the absence of objects as they are. This is the same. If the consciousness that appears for the benefit of sentient beings arises from the distinction of the transformation of one's own continuum, it is not from the distinction of meaning. Since there is no basis and no explanation, how can sentient beings ascertain consciousness by relying on sinful friends and virtuous spiritual friends, and by listening to holy and unholy Dharma? By the power of one upon one, consciousness is mutually determined. The consciousness of all sentient beings is determined mutually by relying on each other. This should be applied appropriately. "One upon one" means mutually. Therefore, the distinction of consciousness in another's continuum arises from the distinction of consciousness in another's continuum, not from the distinction of meaning. For example, just as the consciousness of a dream is meaningless, if one is not inverted by sleep, then why would the results of performing virtuous and non-virtuous actions in sleep and not in sleep not be the same as wanting and not wanting for future results? Because the mind is oppressed by sleep, therefore dreams and results are not the same. This is the cause here, but it is not meaningful. If these are merely consciousness, then since there is no body or speech anywhere, how can sheep and so on die when butchers and so on kill them? If death is not caused by them, then how can butchers and so on have the fault of killing? Death is the consciousness of another, from the distinction, that is the example. Like the mind of ghosts and so on being in control, the loss of memory of others, and so on. For example, the mind of ghosts and so on being in control causes others to lose their memory, and to see dreams, and the elementals

It will transform the meaning, and by the power of the mind with magical powers. For example, the blessing of the great son Kātāyana caused Sāraṇa to see visions in a dream, and due to the disturbed mind of the ascetic, like weaving copper threads, through the difference of other's consciousness, some changes occur that are incompatible with the life force of other beings, which is called the extinction of the lineage like the end of a kalpa, and should be understood as death. The ascetic was angry, how did the monastery of Dantaka become empty? If you do not want beings to die due to the difference of other's consciousness, then when committing the great fault of mind, the Blessed One said to the householder's close attendants: Householder, what have you heard about the monastery of Dantaka, and the monastery of Kalinga, and the monastery of Matanga, how they became empty and pure? He replied: Gautama, I have heard that it happened because the ascetics were angry. The fault of mind is very great, how can it be accomplished by that? If one thinks like this: those non-humans who like this place, with a cloth (block) the mouths of the beings living there, (then) the ascetics' suspicion due to mental confusion is not like that. If that is the case, by that karma, with the sins of body and speech, how can the sin of mind be accomplished as an extremely serious sin? Just because of his mental confusion, so many beings can be accomplished to die. If these are only consciousness, then with the consciousness of others, does one know the minds of others or not? What is the use of this? If one does not know, then how can it be said to know the minds of others? If one knows, then, how can what is known by the consciousness of others be as it is? For example, knowing one's own mind. How is that also not as it is? Because one does not know the realm of the Buddha as it is. How can it be like that, becoming an unspeakable nature, becoming the realm of the Buddha, like that he did not know, so both of them are not as they are, because they appear reversed. Because the conceptual thoughts of grasping and being grasped have not been abandoned. Completely (understanding) with only consciousness

These endless and unfathomably profound distinctions, this establishment of mere consciousness, I have tried to emulate my own power, but all its aspects are inconceivable. Those like me cannot conceive of all aspects, because it is not the domain of discursive thought. Then, whose domain are all its aspects? It is said to be the domain of the Buddha. That is the domain of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, because they have unobstructed knowledge of all aspects of all knowable things. The commentary on the Twenty Verses by Master Vasubandhu is complete. It was examined and finalized by the Indian Abbot Jinamitra and Śīlendrabodhi, and the translator-editor, the monk Yeshe De. Commentary on the Twenty Verses, by Vasubandhu.
