The fruit of not falling from meditative absorption is that it is not appropriate to indulge in desires. Therefore, it is established that the emanation is different from the essence. Starting from "those who remember births" up to "it is not appropriate to practice austerities," these words have already been explained by the words themselves without relying on commentary. Abandoning hundreds of millions of Jambudvipas, it is not permissible to become perfectly enlightened in one place and turn the wheel of Dharma, because the emanation is of the same kind, being consistent in all respects. Therefore, the emanation cannot be the essence. If it is thought that in other Jambudvipas there is no showing of perfect enlightenment, but after becoming perfectly enlightened in one Jambudvipa, the emanations in the remaining ones perform the deeds of the Buddha, then why not think that perfect enlightenment occurs in Tushita itself? If, according to your system, it is permissible to become perfectly enlightened in one Jambudvipa and to show emanations in the remaining ones, then why is it not permissible to become perfectly enlightened in Tushita itself and, while abiding there, to show emanations in all the Jambudvipas of the four continents? By what power is it known that there is no perfect enlightenment in all the Jambudvipas of the four continents? There is neither scripture nor reason to know that a Buddha will not appear in any Jambudvipa. Or, the appearance of two Tathagatas without precedence in one world is not a place and there is no opportunity, does this not contradict the sutra you mentioned? If Buddhas were to appear simultaneously in all Jambudvipas, would that not be contradictory? The answer is given by "two Tathagatas," etc. In this sutra, the world is considered to be the four continents, not the three thousandfold great thousand worlds. Just as two universal monarchs do not appear, the sutra says that just as the Tathagatas do not appear simultaneously, so too the universal monarchs do not appear simultaneously. These do not occur in one four-continent world, but not in the three thousandfold world.

Therefore, the Buddha should also be understood in the same way. Here, the term "verse" refers to the perfect complete enlightenment, which is shown by verses such as "The Buddha's emanations are subtle." Just as the Buddha's emanations enter the mother's womb in great numbers, so too do his attendants, such as the venerable Shariputra and many other Shravaka disciples, each through their own emanations, enter the mother's womb as they are. The term "similar" refers to being in accordance with time. In this way, the perfect complete enlightenment of all aspects is excellently shown. In terms of the aspiration and practice for the benefit of all sentient beings, this shows that it is not permissible to be forever completely liberated from suffering. For the benefit of all sentient beings, one makes aspirations and practices, thereby accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. If one were to be forever completely liberated from suffering and completely enter Nirvana, then these two would become fruitless, which indicates the unreasonable cause that prevents complete Nirvana. In some places, the statement "The bodies of the Tathagatas are eternal" is because the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya are impermanent. If these two are impermanent, then how can it be said that "the body is eternal"? These two are also eternal, because the common cause and the two emanations rely on the Dharmakaya being eternal. This shows the nominal eternity, that is, in relation to the Dharmakaya, their bodies are eternal, thus combining the sentences. In relation to the other two bodies, their bodies abide in impermanence, thus combining the verses. Furthermore, the Sambhogakaya is "uninterrupted in perfect enjoyment," meaning that the Sambhogakaya is eternal because it is uninterrupted and continuous. "Always enjoying bliss" is like this, which means that temporarily, for example, it is not uninterruptedly enjoying bliss, however, because it is continuous, it is said that "this always enjoys bliss," similarly, the Sambhogakaya, although not eternally existent, is nevertheless called eternal, that is, the center of the Bodhisattva's retinue.
