The teachings and, the complete revelation of the arising of the three kinds of pervasive defilements, this is the first. If asked, what is the difference between other's power and pervasive defilements? Answer: There is a difference of common and special. Or because of the difference in size, other's power is vast, because all things that arise from conditions are other's power. In those three pervasive defilements, the complete nourishment of the five senses and so on is not included, therefore. Therefore, the pervasive defilement of afflictions also becomes affliction, the pervasive defilement of karma also becomes affliction, and the pervasive defilement of birth also becomes pervasive defilement, so it runs for a long time in samsara, and there is no interruption in samsara for a long time, etc., this is the second complete revelation of the arising of the three pervasive defilements. This also has two aspects, namely, the revelation of revolving in samsara by the power of the three pervasive defilements, and the revelation of revolving in the six realms by the power of the three pervasive defilements, this is the first. Like this, because manifest clinging becomes the cause and condition, the three pervasive defilements will arise. The three pervasive defilements are like this: affliction, karma, and birth. Because it exists together with the object and the corresponding one, and is bound by the two kinds of bonds, it is called pervasive defilement, because relying on those pervasive defilements, it runs in the two kinds of death and transfer of things and transformations, and becomes uninterrupted in samsara, this is its meaning. The meaning of the two kinds of death and transfer should be understood as it appears from the revelation of characteristics. Or sentient hell beings, or animals, or hungry ghosts, or gods, or asuras, or experiencing various sufferings among humans, this is the second revelation of revolving in the six realms by the power of the three pervasive defilements. Among them, the so-called sentient hell beings, from the treatises that are in accordance with the correct teachings, ka is happiness.

It is the name of... Na (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) means "non-existence." Raga (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) means giving, because there is no mutual giving of happiness, it is called sentient being hell. Furthermore, Raka (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) means protection, and Naraka (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) is the name of "cannot be protected," so it is called sentient being hell, thus it was taught. In the Great Treatise on Specific Explanations, it says, Naraka (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) is a name. Ka (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) means a bad person, because they are born in a bad place, it is called sentient being hell, thus it was said. In the Abhidharma Treatise, it says that because there is no happiness, it is called sentient being hell. Animals are called animals because they walk with their bodies bent. Also, in the treatise "In Accordance with Correct Reasoning," it says that these beings mostly walk with their bodies bent, or because there are some beings that walk bent over. In the Great Treatise on Specific Explanations, it says that because their shapes are bent, their walking is also bent, and because their walking is bent, their shapes are also bent, therefore they are called animals. Some say that they are called animals because they exist everywhere and walk everywhere, just as they pervade all five realms of existence. Hungry ghosts, in the Abhidharma Treatise, and in other treatises, it says that they are called hungry ghosts because they are constantly seeking. In the treatise "In Accordance with Correct Reasoning," it says that they are called hungry ghosts because they are fearful, afraid, have many possessions, have very bad complexions, and have unstable minds. In the Great Treatise on Specific Explanations, it says that they are called hungry ghosts because they are completely tormented by hunger and thirst. Some say that they are called hungry ghosts because they are used and employed by others, because the hungry ghosts are constantly driven by the gods to do various things, so they must run. Then, gods, in the Abhidharma Treatise, it says that they are called gods because they possess light. In the treatise "In Accordance with Correct Reasoning," it says that gods are like this: they are revered by all, have obtained power over miraculous activities, and are prayed to by many.
