What will become of it? All ignorance is the same, why not admit it? Just as non-afflictive ignorance is merely the absence of knowledge, why not admit that all afflictive ignorance is also merely the absence of knowledge? I also do not understand non-afflictive ignorance. It is considered the cause of not abandoning grave sins, etc., because it shows that actions, etc., are conditions, so it shows that non-afflictive ignorance is real. If non-afflictive ignorance is the opposite of knowledge such as writing, then let it be as you wish. Or, writing, etc., is merely the absence of knowledge, and there is no fault in any way. If it is said that it cannot be shown to be the cause of afflictions, actions, and births, then if knowledge such as writing is merely non-afflictive ignorance, then what can prevent them from arising? If the cause is not complete, it will not arise; if the cause is complete, knowledge such as writing will also arise. Even if the cause is complete, it will not arise. Afflictive ignorance is the reality of the absence of knowledge, as has been understood before, which is explained in detail from the differentiation of ignorance. Some say that all ignorance is the opposite of knowledge, which is another dharma, referring to afflictive and non-afflictive. Among them, the first view is that there is only one knowledge, but for all objects of knowledge, the opposite of knowledge arises in each moment, so it is considered to be constant. What is the first view? It is said to be constantly and universally present. If there is only one, then when knowledge arises on one object, why does ignorance not disappear on all objects? The answer is that because the difference of cause becomes near, so on which object knowledge arises, as long as that knowledge has not disappeared, it will not pervade other things outside that object.

The meaning of "will arise" is: In whatever realm knowledge arises, it is called writing, treatises, crafts, and so on. The meaning of "because of the proximity of the difference of conditions" is because the differences of the causes of those knowledge have gathered. The meaning of "pervades things other than that" is that it pervades things that are different from things like writing. Another ignorance will arise. The previous ignorance disappeared naturally because it was momentary. The meaning of "until that knowledge has not disappeared" is from the perspective of writing knowledge and so on. How does it not disappear? Because its habit is present. Because the habit of writing and other knowledge has not been used, this is the concluding statement. Until then, another ignorance that distinguishes it from other things will arise. That knowledge has disappeared, and it will arise again as before. It is said that "if the knowledge of writing and so on is lost, then in the realm of writing and so on, that ignorance will arise as before." Similarly, diseases, causes of diseases, medicines, etc., in whatever realm, because of the proximity of the difference of conditions, combine with the context. When knowledge arises, for the knowable that is different from this, the incompatible aspect of knowledge, an ignorance will arise. It will exist. Therefore, from diseases and causes of diseases and medicines, etc., for the difference of the knowable, as an incompatible aspect of knowledge, an ignorance will arise. What existed before is because it is momentary. The meaning of "until one has not attained omniscience" is until one becomes a Buddha, one should know that there are aspects of shortcomings. Explaining the meaning with an example, it is like in a room, this is a detailed explanation. The meaning of "the darkness of all that realm ceases naturally" is that in the realm of form that exists in a dark room, the existence of darkness is naturally ceased.

Because all conditioned phenomena are momentary and perishable, it is called that all conditioned phenomena are momentary and perishable. Therefore, they will cease naturally, because there is no other cause for destruction. The phrase "on which side of that form, light appears from the hole under the wall" refers to the side of that form that is in a dark room. The phrase "therefore, in the other remaining places, darkness will arise" means that from other places besides the previous form, along with the remaining darkness, in the place of the form that is in the dark room, darkness will arise. The phrase "until the light disappears" means that on which side of the form the light arises, before that, from other remaining places besides that, darkness will arise. The phrase "when the light disappears, at the same time, just like before, darkness will arise again" means that just like the previous darkness, in the place of the form where there is light and a dark room. Then, how is it that this one unknowable thing is both an affliction and not an affliction? Because it is afflictive, it is an affliction, that is, it is the cause of affliction, karma, and birth. Because it is not afflictive, it is also not an affliction, that is, it is the opposite of the knowledge of writing letters, treatises, crafts, and so on. The phrase "both associated with afflictions and not associated" means that, like this, ignorance is associated with other afflictions, and is also separate and mixed. Or, because desire and so on are afflictive, it is an extreme combination. Because it is not afflictive, it is not an extreme combination. The phrase "both unwholesome and not unwholesome" means that because it is associated with wrong views and so on, it is unwholesome. Because it is not afflictive, it is also wholesome. Because it is associated with the view of the aggregates and so on, it is also to be abandoned by seeing. It is not to be abandoned by it, because it is not afflictive. Because it is said, "Not afflictive, not to be abandoned by seeing." Mind affliction
