Furthermore, why is it said to bring joy to many and please many? Such a transformation accomplishes two purposes: by achieving samadhi, it generates the supreme bliss of joy, so it does not give to others who have not experienced this joy, and it also manifests itself as tending towards it, and makes others manifest as tending towards it, generating joy that has not yet arisen, because it makes the mind joyful and satisfies the mind, so it can subdue one's own mindstream and the mindstreams of others, as it is said. From the perspective of abandoning idle talk, it has been fully revealed to abandon with antidotes and to abandon with results. The antidote is, from the perspective of mutual conversation, the words of answering questions when starting a conversation, and the words spoken when exhorting from non-virtuous places and seeing that one can abide in virtuous places, because they are words that are good at answering questions, and speaking at the right time, as it is said. The words that are not inverted are because they speak truthfully, as it is said. From the perspective of mutually instructing advice, when starting advice, the so-called meaningful words and the words of Dharma are because they speak of meaning and speak of Dharma, as it is said. From the perspective of mutually rescuing from downfall, when pacifying disputes, the so-called rational words and the words of scripture are because they speak of discipline, as it is said. With words that can gather, gathering through teaching the Dharma, and speaking to those who abide with conduct suitable for listening, and speaking including initiating topics, is because they possess patience, and speak words that have timing and foundation, as it is said. The result is universal enjoyment, both small and large. The opposite of this is abandoning the result, that is, small and large themselves, because even words of joking are completely abandoned, and if they are completely abandoned, then what need is there to mention distraction with words, as it is said. The absence of greed is fully revealed through three ways: things, nature, various distinctions, and aspects. Things are also complete grasping and nature. Complete grasping also has two aspects: grasping as mine.

Complete possession and complete possession through use, therefore it is said that it is the property of others and the desires of others. Self-nature is also of two types: the actual objects of goods, such as shells and gold, and complete use, therefore it is said that it is the property and utensils of others. The nature of non-greed is the antidote that does not generate greed, therefore it is said that greed does not arise. Its detailed classification is that the antidotes to the three types of greed should be understood. The three types of greed arise from the gate of instigation, the gate of wishing to obtain, and the gate of stealing. As its antidote, it is said that one does not covet, does not desire, and does not generate an attached mind. Thus, the first two are small, and the third is large. Harmlessness is completely shown to five types of sentient beings as an antidote to the opposing side: to those who harm, therefore it is said to be the mind of loving-kindness; to those who behave improperly, therefore it is said to be the mind of benefit; to those who suffer and beg, therefore it is said to be the mind of compassion and the mind of happiness; to those who are jealous of happiness, therefore it is said to be the mind of gentleness; and to those who uphold the mind of enlightenment and are lazy with great effort, therefore it is said to be possessed of the mind of benefiting all beings. There are six types of opposing sides. It should be understood that there is no difference between the minds of loving-kindness and so on, and it is not shown to each one separately. Whatever does not arise, one causes to arise; whatever has arisen, one follows, increases, or multiplies; whatever does not generate virtuous thoughts in one's own mind-stream, one does not cause to arise, and one also causes what has arisen to completely diminish; whatever causes unwholesome things that have not arisen to arise, and also causes what has arisen to increase; whatever causes unpleasant things that have not arisen in the mind-stream of others to arise, and also causes what has arisen to increase; whatever does not cause pleasant things that have not arisen to arise, and does not remember what has already arisen, that is anger and holding grudges.

It should be understood that the words "abandoning those which are preceded by vulgarity, defilement, harmful thoughts, and anger" are explained in order. Anger and the like are the precursors to other misdeeds, hence they are called "precursors." Abandoning these, the minds of other beings will also become loving, because the mind understands those who are loving. Right view is fully explained as the antidote to the seven wrong views. The seven wrong views, namely, the views towards other schools, their antidote is to abide in the right path. For the view of not fully realizing what is good, and the view that one can be purified merely by precepts, the antidote is auspiciousness, various omens, and being free from the view of bad precepts. Among them, the view that one can be purified merely by precepts should be understood as the precepts that hold the self as supreme. For the view of holding the self as supreme, the sutra says "view is upright." For the view of holding and the view of false speech, the sutra says "without deception and without falsehood." For the impure view of the world, the sutra says "generating firm faith in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha." Having thus fully explained the precepts of abandoning everything, by constantly and continuously guarding them, it fully demonstrates the faultlessness of the precepts themselves. Because the sutra says that these ten paths of virtuous actions should be constantly and continuously guarded. For example, through everything and faultlessness, thus the nature of the precepts themselves is fully explained. After that, in order to fully explain the pure precepts of accumulating virtuous dharmas, it shows the order of generating Bodhicitta and so on. For example, generating the Bodhicitta of sentient beings, all the bad realms, evil paths, and downfalls of sentient beings are produced from the cause of truly upholding the ten non-virtuous paths of action.
