ra bya'o. There are also two causes of arising: hatred and desire. There are also two types of desire: the desire for enjoyment, so for the sake of enjoyment, one abandons oneself completely in the next life without hesitation. As an antidote to this, it is said, "For what reason is one endowed with hesitation?" As an antidote to the desire for the limbs of living beings and the delight in killing them, it is said, "For what reason? One enters into compassion." The opposite of this is abandoning the cause. There are two antidotes to this: leading to the correct grasping of virtue, the cause of happiness and liberation, benefiting all sentient beings, and loving-kindness, wishing them to attain those fruits. It is said, "For what reason? One is endowed with benefit, happiness, loving-kindness, and loving heart towards all living beings and creatures." Thus, without reversing the cause and effect, abandoning the killing of animals in rituals such as offerings arising from ignorance is shown as abandonment. Therefore, by abandoning this, abandonment itself is the antidote, that is, abandoning by means of the antidote. Mentioning living beings and creatures completely shows that sentient beings are neither permanent nor annihilated, because they possess the life force, they exist as long as they live, and even the dead arise again due to the power of karma and afflictions. The result of the cause of killing is universal behavior. This also has two types: the small one is harming with the mind, and the large one is harming with the body. It is said, "Because even if one only universally thinks, one does not harm living beings, what need is there to mention harming other sentient beings, considering them as sentient beings, intentionally thinking, and causing great harm with the body?" The great universal behavior is completely shown in five ways: mentioning "other" indicates lineage, mentioning "sentient beings" indicates things, mentioning "considering as sentient beings" indicates recognition, mentioning "intentionally thinking" indicates manifest action, and mentioning "causing great harm with the body" indicates nature. From the perspective of abandoning taking what is not given, three types of abandonment are completely shown, namely the cause.

Abandoning, abandoning the antidote, abandoning the result. Among them, the cause is not being content with one's own enjoyment, and the antidote to this is said to be contentment with one's own enjoyment. The antidote is also abandoning attachment to one's own enjoyment, which is giving, so that one will not be deceived by enjoyment in the next life, because it is said to protect the enjoyment of others. The result is complete enjoyment. This also has two aspects: the small one is taking small things. The large one is taking things other than that. These two are fully shown in five ways: by mentioning others, the cause is mentioned; by mentioning the objects to be fully grasped, the objects are mentioned; by mentioning the recognition there, the recognition is mentioned; by mentioning the establishment of the stealing mind, the manifested action and nature are shown. Even grass and leaves, if not given, are not taken, let alone other means of livelihood, this is the small and the large. In terms of abandoning sexual misconduct with desire, three types of abandonment are fully shown. Among them, the cause is not being content with one's own wife, and the antidote to this is said to be contentment with one's own wife. The antidote is wanting to practice celibacy in the next life and not desiring a wife, because it is said not to desire the wife of another. The result is complete enjoyment. This also has two aspects: the small one is the mind, and the large one is the body, which are two manifestations of body and speech. This is fully shown by going to what should not be done, going at the wrong time, and going to the wrong place. Among them, going to what should not be done refers to women who are commonly possessed by others. Among them, the common ones are those who are fully possessed by others. The uncommon ones are the wives of others, because it is said that women who are fully possessed by others and the wives of others. Parents and relatives, and daughters given to others, are like signs as well, because it is said to protect by lineage and signs. Saying "woman" is to exclude women who belong to the category of non-sentient beings. Going at the wrong time refers to the prescribed times.
