That which is like water is the characteristic of wetness. 'No self' means the absence of permanence and so on. That which is like fire is the characteristic of being hot and burning. Lifeless, because warmth is fire. That which is like wind is the characteristic of lightness and movement. No person, because the characteristic of birth and death is under the control of karma and afflictions. That which is like space is because it has no inherent nature; it cannot be found even if searched for with intelligence. Therefore, it is called the place of the great elements, because those that are not true appear falsely as that very thing. How so? The body is born from the aggregation of causes and conditions such as earth, so it is called a place. However, these do not produce many fruits from one cause, nor do they produce one fruit from one cause. Nor do many causes produce many fruits, nor do many causes produce one fruit. However, in an unexamined state, causes and fruits are also perceived, so they are not true. The five aggregates are the basis for grasping at self and what belongs to self. Among them, consciousness is grasped as self, and the remaining aggregates are grasped as what belongs to self, so it is 'self and what belongs to self.' These are also inseparable from the nature of one and many, so they are empty. Empty of what? Some think that 'self' exists as a real entity. Then, is this 'self' the nature of the aggregates or something separate from them? According to the first view, the aggregates are impermanent and appear as many, while 'self' is considered to be permanent and singular. According to the second view, the self that is separate from the aggregates cannot be perceived because it cannot be made visible, and because it is considered to be the nature of self, it is unreasonable. Some think that subtle particles exist in the nature of elements such as earth, water, fire, and wind. But these would also lead to faults such as having parts, so none of them are reasonable. Enough with too much elaboration, now let's speak plainly: 'matter' means being separate from realization. Now the example is grass and so on. Then, why does the form aggregate arise? Because of the action of wind relying on consciousness, it is an illusion.

It arises in association with cyclic existence. If it is said that it is not material, it is because it has no sensation, that is, because it has not been experienced. The term "arising" means being propelled by the wind from the place of birth. What is its substance? It is said to be an accumulation of pus and impurities, transforming from semen and blood into something like eye mucus. Because it has no essence, it accumulates. Even the actions of abiding mock it, so it is always smeared with things and so on. From what does it arise? It is said to be from disease, that is, from one hundred and one diseases arising from wind, bile, phlegm, and their combination, four types making four hundred and four. Oppression is like relatives. Aging is the complete ripening of phenomena. Overwhelmed means always in danger. Death is the complete abandonment of the body by consciousness. Therefore, it is empty like a grass bag. Like an old well. Thus, because it is the nature of birth, abiding, sickness, and death, various faults have been explained. Now, to explain it briefly, it starts with the aggregates and so on. The five aggregates are like executioners; here, it is said to be like executioners because it is shown as distinct from the five uncontaminated aggregates. The elements are said to be like virulent poison, like venomous snakes. The sense bases are said to be like empty villages; these indicate faults. To view the aggregates and so on as having qualities is a wrong view, so the characteristics of impermanence and so on are explained. Now, in order to recognize faults and abandon them, the advice is given: You should be disgusted with such a body and so on. Disgust is to make it impure. Generating revulsion is to abandon it. How? As practiced before, one will recognize the faults. Once recognized, one will abandon them. So what should be attained? It is said that one should generate faith in the body of the Tathagata, because it is to attain the fruit. There are two types of bodies: the Form Body and the Dharma Body. Among them, because it is the main one, the Dharma Body is mentioned. In the scriptures it also says: 'Whoever sees me in form, whoever seeks me in sound, that person has entered a wrong path.'

O! Those beings do not see me. The Buddhas are the Dharmakaya. The guides see the Dharmata. If one does not understand Dharmata, Then one cannot truly know. Thus it is said. Moreover, O monks, regard the Tathagata as the complete Dharmakaya, and do not cling to the aggregate-body as the body, thus it is said. Why is that? Because the Dharmakaya, as previously stated, is pervasive and constant. And the Rupakaya is the conventional truth, therefore it does not exist. Born from conditions, not born from its own nature. The body of the Victorious Ones is the Dharmakaya, The Dharmata is eternally abiding like the sky. Thus it is taught, therefore the light of Dharma protectors will be accomplished. Thus it is said. O monks, to see the Tathagata in the nature of the excellent marks and signs, even a Chakravartin king will become a Tathagata, thus it is said. Also, I, with Shariputra, take the Prajnaparamita, thus it is said. Similarly, the Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha does not contemplate the thirty-two marks, does not contemplate the eighty minor marks, without remembrance and without attention, this is the unsurpassed remembrance of the Buddha. Thus it is said, therefore the Dharmakaya is to be attained. What is the path of truth to attain it? It is said to be born of merit, etc. Because it is the result of the two accumulations, the intermediate words are not manifest, so it is connected as born of merit. If it is not so, may the two excellent ones born of merit and wisdom be attained. How should the scholar's proof be calculated? Some say that only the characteristics of merit are said to be the Dharmakaya, so it is said to be born of merit. Some say that if it is so, then the cause is incomplete. If the body of merit is said to be the Dharmakaya, why not call the part of wisdom merit? If it is called, then it is only a wish, and if it is not called, then the cause will be incomplete. So, what is merit itself? It is said to be born of generosity, etc. Generosity is giving, giv
