Then, it is established through the complete perfection of eleven branches. Among them, the first to be established is the complete perfection of the branch of realizing the suchness of selflessness of person and phenomena. Thus, when one realizes that, at the culmination of the Dharma, the wisdom that directly perceives all phenomena as devoid of inherent existence is extremely clear, transcends the world, is free from all elaborations, and arises for the first time, at that time, the Bodhisattva enters the true and immaculate state, and because the path of seeing arises, one enters the first ground. Therefore, because one has not comprehended suchness, and for the sake of initially comprehending it, the ground of the Bodhisattva is the Joyful Ground. Therefore, that ground is called the Joyful Ground. On that ground, one abandons one hundred and twelve afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing. The remaining grounds are the nature of the path of meditation, and by meditating on them, one abandons sixteen afflictions of the three realms. On that ground, the Bodhisattva realizes the nature of pervading the entire realm of Dharma, and engages in the benefit of others as if it were one's own benefit, therefore the perfection of generosity is extremely superior. Although that Bodhisattva has comprehended suchness, as long as one is unable to consciously abide in the subtle faults of falling, one remains on the first ground. When one is able to abide, and that branch is completely perfected, then one is established on the second ground. Therefore, on that ground, one does not engage in any subtle faults of falling, therefore the perfection of discipline is extremely superior. Because one is free from all the stains of immoral conduct, that ground is called the Immaculate Ground. One is also able to consciously abide in the subtle faults of falling. As long as one is unable to enter into all worldly samadhis and unable to retain all the meanings one has heard, one remains only on the second ground. When one is able to, and that branch is completely perfected, then one is established on the third ground. On that ground, the Bodhisattva, for the sake of retaining what one has heard, and for the sake of actualizing all worldly samadhis, endures all suffering, therefore the perfection of patience is extremely superior.

Having obtained those samadhis, that bhumi is called 'Effulgent' because it causes the appearance of limitless transcendental wisdom. Even if all worldly samadhis are obtained, as long as one does not repeatedly abide in the dharmas of the wings of enlightenment as they have been obtained, and is unable to abandon the mind that is in equanimity with the Dharma and samadhi, it is the third bhumi. When one is able to do so, that limb is completely perfected, and it is established as the fourth bhumi. On that bhumi, the bodhisattva constantly abides in the dharmas of the wings of enlightenment in order to truly recollect from the expressions of speech and mind, therefore the perfection of diligence is very great. That bhumi is called 'Radiant' because the light of the dharmas of the wings of enlightenment, which is able to burn all the trees of affliction, is very manifest. That bhumi also constantly abides in the dharmas of the wings of enlightenment. As long as, when meditating on the truths, the mind does not turn away from tending towards samsara and manifestly tending towards nirvana, and one is unable to meditate on the wings of enlightenment that are grasped by skillful means, it is the fourth bhumi. When one is able to do so, that limb is completely perfected, and it is established as the fifth bhumi. Therefore, on that bhumi, perfecting the meditation on the wings of enlightenment that are grasped by skillful means is very difficult to tame, so it is called 'Extremely Difficult to Tame'. On that bhumi, one repeatedly meditates on the aspects of the truths, therefore the perfection of meditation is very great, and that bhumi also repeatedly abides in the wings of enlightenment that are grasped by skillful means. As long as one is weary of entering samsara due to separate observation, and the mind-stream is unable to equally abide in the signless, it is the fifth bhumi. When one is able to do so, that limb is completely perfected, and the sixth bhumi is established. On that bhumi, the bodhisattva abides by meditating on dependent origination, therefore the perfection of wisdom is very great. Therefore, because the perfection of wisdom is very great, that bhumi is called the 'Manifestation of All Buddha-Dharmas'. That
