And it continues for a long time without anything. In these ways, refuting the absence of self, and as the supreme Brahmin lineage says, if I am absent in all ways like that, then your generosity and so on are meaningless. For example, just as a dead body has no feelings of pleasure and so on, if there is no self, when will the fruits of generosity and so on arise? The explanation for this: Does refuting others refute others? I do not prevent the aggregates below me. Therefore, in the case of a person, only the aggregates of no-self abide in such a way, who can prevent the arising of the fruits of karma and so on? What you consider to be the self is only like mistaking a rope for a snake. This is a brief explanation of the absence of self in a person, thereby eliminating the view of the supreme Brahmin. Having thus refuted the views of others, now we must also refute the views of our own schools. That is, these outsiders believe that external objects exist in atoms, and that atoms have intervals and no intervals, and that they exist without adhering to the non-intervals. Now let us examine this here, just as knowing that mistaking a rope for a snake is wrong, so is thinking it is a rope also wrong. How so? This is not a rope, because it is twisted. It is not twisted either, because it is a collection of roots. The roots of the root collection are also non-existent, because they are atoms. Do atoms exist or not? It is said: Atoms do not exist. How so? Because there is no distinction of direction. The directions such as east are different, so it is not established that atoms are the same. If there is no difference between atoms, that is fine, but if one atom is located in the center of the atoms located in about ten directions, then with which part is it connected to the atom located in the west, is it connected to the atoms located in the north with the same part? Or is it connected with other parts? To this, let us say for the time being that it is connected with the same part, then because it is connected with all of itself, everything will become atoms, because the six are in the same position, the lump will become as small as an atom.

Eliminate it! If it is not eliminated, all things in the ten directions will become the nature of the minute particles located in the center, and everything will become minute particles. The combination of other parts with minute particles is also not possible, because it is not admitted that indivisible minute particles have parts. If six combine simultaneously, then the minute particles will become six parts. Please eliminate this fault that has been stated. Please make the minute particles not diminish into one. Therefore, the minute particles are neither one nor many. If one does not exist, then similarly, please abandon those views that hold that there are intervals, adhesion without intervals, and non-adhesion without intervals. I have refuted the minute particles from the root, so it is known that both oneself and others think that things have branches like rosaries and threads. An explanation for this: Are the branched and the branches different? Or are they the same? To this, it cannot be said that they are different, because no branched thing can be found from the branches. Who has seen a single branched thing other than each bead of a rosary, a double-stranded thread, and each hair? Nor are they the same, for if they were the same, contradictory qualities would arise. Because, if the initial part is red, etc., then the central part and the other initial part should also be red, etc., because they are the same. If the red, etc., and the branched are not the same, then that is not so, because through establishment and sameness, they are the same. Furthermore, there are those who say that things are not momentary but permanent. An explanation for this: Permanence is contradictory to acting sequentially and simultaneously. If the result arises first, then there is no need for the cause, for what does the cause do? If the cause arises first, then the power of the cause is exhausted, and then the result arises, so what help does the cause give to it? Therefore, it does not act sequentially. Nor does it act simultaneously, for if it acts simultaneously, then the cause and agent of all will not be permanent, because it would lead to the fault that all the seeds in the ten directions would simultaneously become sprouts, etc. These faults mostly occur to outsiders. This is the Dharma Lord.
