All conditioned phenomena are momentary. I am empty and without a master, without an author. The Discrimination of Conditioned and Unconditioned Phenomena, compiled by the great Pandit Ten Powers Glorious Friend, from the Determination of Conditioned and Unconditioned Phenomena, is the first chapter called The Determination of the Differentiation of Conditioned and Unconditioned Phenomena. Among these, these three are the characteristics of conditioned phenomena: arising, abiding, and ceasing. Some say that including aging among these, the four are the characteristics of conditioned phenomena. In order to generate conditioned phenomena, there are six causes: the efficient cause, the co-emergent cause, the similar cause, the concomitant cause, the pervasive cause, and the ripening cause. The undifferentiated result of these causes is one, namely all conditioned phenomena. The differentiated results are four: the ripening result comes from the ripening cause; the dominant result comes from the efficient cause; the similar result comes from the similar cause and the pervasive cause; the acting-as-a-person result comes from the co-emergent cause and the concomitant cause. There are four conditions: the causal condition, the immediately preceding condition, the objective condition, and the dominant condition. Among these, with respect to phenomena, the nature of conditioned phenomena and all phenomena other than its own nature are the efficient cause, because they abide in all births with an unobstructed nature. Any phenomena that become results for each other are mutually co-emergent causes, such as the four great elements. A similar phenomenon that has been previously practiced is the cause of the growth of a similar later phenomenon, and its nature is the similar cause. For example, from the five aggregates of virtuous phenomena comes virtuous phenomena, from afflicted phenomena comes afflicted phenomena, and from unspecified phenomena comes unspecified phenomena. Any phenomena whose nature manifests together, everything is established, and whatever is not complete is not, that is the concomitant cause, such as mind and mental factors. The pervasive phenomena that are previously closely generated by oneself are the pervasive cause of later afflicted phenomena.

Since it is the general cause of defiled dharmas, it is established as different from the cause of equal division. Habituation to any affliction such as desire can increase the continuity of all such as hatred. Because of completely grasping oneself as a thing, any non-virtuous and contaminated virtuous dharmas are the cause of maturation. It is also not neutral, like a rotten seed, it is weak. It is also not uncontaminated, because it is moistened by craving, like a seed of essence without moisture, it does not have the power to manifest and accomplish my nature. Therefore, the dharma manifested as sentient beings, accomplished by neutral and contaminated good and non-good, is the fruit of maturation. Other than what is born first, other conditioned dharmas are the lord fruit of all conditioned dharmas. Any dharma that is similar to its own cause is the fruit of similar cause. Whatever power causes anything to be born near is the masculine action fruit, such as the mind of the lower ground yoga is the samadhi of the upper ground, the contaminated can generate the uncontaminated, and so on. Therefore, the five causes other than the acting cause are the co-existent condition. Abandoning the last mind and mental factors of the Arhat, all minds and mental factors that arise nearby are the immediately preceding condition. Forms and so on of eye consciousness and so on, and all dharmas of mind consciousness and so on, are the objective condition. Any acting cause is the dominant condition. Therefore, tending towards cessation, the two causes of simultaneous arising and association act, because those two create the fruit of simultaneous near arising. The causes of maturation that pervade all equal divisions tend towards birth and act on the future. The immediately preceding condition acts on what is being born, because it gives opportunity. The objective condition acts on what is being extinguished. Because it holds the present mind and mental factors. The dominant condition also abides in all circumstances with the nature of unobstructedness.

The second chapter, entitled "Determination of Cause," from "Determination of Conditioned and Unconditioned" compiled by the great Pandit Ten Powers Glorious Spiritual Friend. Conditioned dharmas are of two types: namely, the vessel world and the sentient being world. Although the vessel world is manifold, it can be said thus: up to the limit of space is the circle of wind. Above that is the circle of water. Above that is the great golden circle. As it is said: Among the vessel world, The placement of shapes below, The measure of the wind circle is, Sixty crore countless. The water measure is eleven crore, And twenty thousand. Afterwards, the measure is eight crore, The remainder becomes gold. Thus it is said. Among these, "remainder" refers to the measure of the great golden circle, exceeding twenty thousand yojanas, the measure of three crore. The measure of the expanse is also, For the circles of water and gold, Directly twelve crore, Three thousand and hundred, Only fifty. The circumference is threefold. Thus it is said. The central top of the great golden circle is Mount Meru, whose nature is of four jewels. The four jewels are: gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. The seven mountain ranges are gold. Namely: Yoke-Holder Mountain, Plow-Shaft-Holder Mountain, Sandalwood Mountain, Beautiful to Behold Mountain, Horse-Ear Mountain, Complete Submission Mountain, and Circumference-Holder Mountain. Outside of that, the surrounding mountain is the ninth iron mountain. Above the golden ground circle is the water circle, whose measure is Eighty thousand yojanas, and Mount Meru and the other nine mountains are all submerged in it. As it is said: Mount Meru, nature of four jewels, Submerged in water eighty thousand. The mountain rises above the water, Also eighty thousand. The eight heights are halved and halved, Their measure is equal to the height. Thus it is said. From Mount Excellent and so forth up to the end of Circumference-Holder, the spaces between the mountains are called the seven cool seas, filled with water possessing eight qualities.
