Residing in (meditation), he entered into Nirvana. Thus, it is also stated in the Sutra of Entering Nirvana: Then, the Bhagavan entered the first dhyana. Rising from the first dhyana, he entered the second dhyana. Rising from the second, he entered the third dhyana. Rising from the third, he entered the fourth dhyana. Rising from the fourth, he entered the sphere of infinite space. Rising from that, he entered the sphere of infinite consciousness. Rising from that, he entered the sphere of nothingness. Rising from that, he entered the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. Rising from that, he entered the cessation of perception and feeling. Rising from that, he entered the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. Rising from that, he entered the sphere of nothingness. From there, he entered the sphere of infinite consciousness. From there, he entered the sphere of infinite space. From there, he entered the fourth dhyana. From there, he entered the third dhyana. From there, he entered the second dhyana. From there, he entered the first dhyana. From there, the second. From there, the third. Rising from the third dhyana, he entered the fourth dhyana. He entered the fourth dhyana. Residing in the fourth dhyana, the Tathagata entered complete Nirvana. After the Bhagavan entered complete Nirvana, immediately the great earth shook and so on, extensively. The thirty-fourth chapter, entitled "The Determination of Benefiting Others through Cause and Effect," in "The Determination of the Conditioned and the Unconditioned," compiled by the great Pandit Ten Powers Glorious Spiritual Friend. Now, the unconditioned should be spoken of. The unconditioned is of three types, namely: space, cessation through discrimination, and cessation not through discrimination. As it is said: The unconditioned is also of three types, space and the two cessations. Thus. Among these, space is the nature of being without obstruction, where forms move. It is also said: That is unobstructed space. It is also said: A hole is said to be the space element. That which is separated from the dharma associated with a person is cessation through discrimination. Discrimination is a distinction of wisdom, suffering, etc.

The respective practices of the noble truths. Cessation attained through individual examination. By removing the word "attained." For example, a cart with oxen is called an oxcart. Cessation through individual examination is: Those that are separated, which are different from which. Thus it is said. Furthermore, are the cessations through individual examination of the many profound things the same? No, it is said: As many things as there are that possess, so many things are there that are separated. Otherwise, the cessation of all afflictions that should be abandoned upon seeing suffering would be too directly manifest. If that were the case, the remaining antidotal practices would become meaningless. As it is said in the Sutra: "The obstruction of dissimilar destinies." What is the meaning of this? It should be said that some causes of similar destinies do not exist here. Here, some say "it is not," this is the meaning of this statement. It is not the case that some similar destinies do not exist here. The cessation through individual examination has been explained. The cessation that arises from separation because future phenomena are extremely obstructed from arising is non-analytical cessation. Here, it is not to be attained through individual examination. However, it is due to the incompleteness of conditions. Furthermore: "Another cessation, through non-analytical means, becomes a great obstacle to arising." Thus it is said. Those three unconditioned things are permanent. Thus it is said: "Space and the two non-cessations, the three unconditioned things are permanent." Thus it is said. In the vehicle of the Bodhisattva, the suchness of all phenomena, that is, suchness, non-perverted suchness, non-other suchness, suchness as an entity, self-nature, essence, not in another way, or suchness. That is pure, impure, and pure-impure. The Dharmakaya of all Buddhas, the extremely ultimate result, the essence, all those are established as unconditioned. The thirty-fifth chapter called "Discernment of the Unconditioned" from the "Discernment of Conditioned and Unconditioned" compiled by the great Pandit Stobs Bdud pa, collected by the spiritual friend. In this way, the Dharma is limitless. Conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, having been divided into many aggregates, that is what the Buddhas have taught.
