If the nature of what is to be understood by the previous one does not exist in the states of the previous and subsequent ones, if that is the case, in the states of the previous and subsequent ones, its nature does not arise, like unconditioned things, it should be understood that it arises momentarily. Those who have opened the eye of wisdom with the awl of meditation will understand that as soon as consciousness arises, it constantly flows away, like entering a certain object, its nature is not present at other times, it will also not transcend destruction in each moment. In that way, it is also shown that it is unreasonable for its name to match its meaning. Because it arises from the power of the previous moment, therefore, this will not become unconditioned, like mind and mental factors. If it is said that the subsequent moments arise independently, it is impossible to change in that way, if these moments abandon independent arising, because they do not depend on others, they will become permanent or non-existent. Because they arise occasionally, it should also be clearly understood that they, like mind and mental factors, arise dependently. All of these are just things I have said presumptuously, and for things that are separate from all functional capacity, there is no point in those with discriminating minds making analytical observations, because functional capacity is the object of analytical observation. Otherwise, if it is not functional capacity, what is the point of wanting it? Like a eunuch, whether beautiful or ugly, what is the use of those with desire observing? Therefore, the wise say that functional capacity is the characteristic of things. For such phenomena, the selflessness of persons and phenomena is taught, and the nature of imputation, which is the opposite of that, is refuted, because the so-called purpose of a person, which is the arising of fruit, depends on this. Others are neither established nor destroyed, because they remain in a state of equanimity. Therefore, do not think that all phenomena are not taught to be selfless, etc. The word "all" is used to express all the meanings that one wants to express, and what one wants to express is all phenomena that have functional capacity.

Therefore, from observation, it is certain that things that can function are momentary. Because other things are not suitable for functioning sequentially and simultaneously. If it is said that a person is momentary or not momentary, it cannot be expressed, then this itself is without self-nature, just like flowers in the sky, etc., it can be established without effort. Furthermore, Momentary or non-momentary, Person is difficult to show, Nature of one and many, Clearly know to be separate. For the person-dharma admitted by the other party, as the root of the argument, being separate from the nature of one and many can be established without effort. If it becomes momentary, it will become the nature of many, because each moment will produce a different nature. If it is not momentary, then because it is always a single manifestation, it will become a single nature. If it cannot be expressed in either case, then it can be established effortlessly as emptiness, separate from the nature of one and many. Furthermore, others admit that external things are divided into two aggregates: pervasive and non-pervasive. Among them, the pervasive are space, etc., and the non-pervasive are coarse and subtle particles. All of these also show contradiction with the unique nature. Due to the association with different directions, How can the pervasive become one? Because of obscuration and non-obscuration, etc., Coarse things are also not one. Space, etc., are associated with trees, etc., in different directions. If those natures associated with one are also associated with others, then because they are associated with it, it is like a unique nature, and others also become indistinguishable from it. However, if it is a different direction, then that nature will not be associated with others. The coarse things that are considered, such as the body, etc., if they hold the nature of existing in inconsistent aspects such as obscuration and non-obscuration, movement and non-movement, color change and non-change, burning and non-burning, etc., how can it be reasonable to become a unique nature? If it is said that obscuration, etc., belong to the limbs, but not to the possessor of limbs, then are these possessors of limbs not aggregates with those limbs? They are not.
