Thus, by sequentially explaining the principles of aggregates, realms, and sources, as well as the mere mind and all phenomena as being without self, all clinging to reality is eliminated, and the bondage and liberation of beings are shown. If someone asks, 'What is this called conceptualization?' The answer is: Mind and mental events, of the three realms, Imaginary distinctions are conceptualization. The appearance of the mind of the three realms and the appearances arising from the mind with imaginary distinctions are conceptualization. These are the very cause of bondage, As you have seen, so it is said. These are also seen by the Thus-Gone One as the very cause of bondage in any way, and are spoken of as they are, but not truly. For example: The power of the non-existent, Is also considered as it appears. Even the non-existent, as it appears, is not contradictory to doing things like binding. In reality, there is neither binding nor what is to be bound. The power of the existent, Is not seen in any way. The ability of the existent to function is not even seen by the Buddhas, because completely cutting off non-attachment with the formless and the formed is not desirable, and other ways of completely cutting off are also not permissible. From where is it seen that something exists? If that exists, then this must exist. If that does not exist, then this itself does not exist. Therefore, it will not be too extreme. These are the intermediate verses. For others, things as they are, It is not permissible to apply terms. All terms apply only as they appear, and it should be known that this is so. For example, even for the view of those who speak of reality, it is not apparent to apply terms to things as they are. Therefore, it is not permissible in reason. For the nature of consciousness, particles and the essence of non-dual reality are not apparent. For the unapparent, there are no terms. Whatever appears is not the essence of reality, because aggregation and duality are not reality. If terms originate from these two, then these two are also merely not reality. If one thinks that even though it appears, it cannot be definitely grasped, then for such a one, there are no terms. What is called appearance is also just believing.

Because there is no conclusive evidence, one must drink the oath water. Also, because there is no valid cognition, and because it is harmed by valid cognition, and also because the nature of things is not permissible. If one wonders how this is, it should be explained following reason. As it is said, even if the nature of things exists, it is only labeled according to how it appears, so there is no need to cling to it. What is the use of clinging to one's own view? Beings are born and change like reeds, and they do not see merits or faults, so what is the use of one's own view? Abandon clinging to one's own view, and enter into reason itself. At any time, hold onto the true object that comes from the power of reason. These are the intermediate verses. This view is also not subject to nihilism, because it arises from causes. Therefore, why would this be nihilistic? If it ceases, then for what is ceased, why would you say it is permanent? When this object, according to how it appears, under the power of karma and afflictions, continues in samsara as long as it lasts, how could this be nihilistic? It is not reasonable to consider the continuous stream of beings going after samsara as nihilistic. When the fire of seeing the noble truths has burned all karma and afflictions, and one dwells in the city of nirvana, how could this be permanent? Therefore, for the nature of things that lack conventional reality, the nature of permanence and annihilation are very far apart. In the ultimate truth, there is no place to find a basis for observation. Like this: For the unborn nature, where are permanence and annihilation? The conceptualization that distinguishes phenomena, conceptualizes the nature itself. Just as no one can write letters in the sky, so too, for unborn things, conceptualizing them as phenomena is the same. These are the intermediate verses. This mere appearance, devoid of the nature of being examined, all that arises dependently, is directly seen by the all-knowing one. Although things are without inherent existence, all things that arise dependently, devoid of truly arising and so on, are known simultaneously and directly in all ways by the one who knows all, therefore he is called the all-knowing one. For whom, the other meaning is completely...
