Commentary on Distinguishing the Two Truths, Essence of Wisdom. Commentary on Distinguishing the Two Truths. Essence of Wisdom. In Sanskrit: Satyadwaya Vibhanga Vritti. In Tibetan: Commentary on Distinguishing the Two Truths. Homage to youthful Manjushri! Those who truly understand the nature of things as devoid of essence, yet with compassion, until the end of samsara, the Able One and his retinue, for the sake of accomplishing the benefit of all beings in the world, I pay homage to those stainless, wise ones who reside here. In order to fully understand the two truths as they are, this treatise is composed. Why? Even though the two truths have been distinguished, the great chariot drivers are still ignorant, what need is there to mention others? Therefore, I will distinguish them. The Bhagavan, who is skilled in bringing about the benefit of others, for the sake of benefiting beings of small intellect, has distinguished the two truths many times. Although masters such as Nagarjuna have already clarified them, even their own great divisions are ignorant, what need is there to mention others who follow them? Those who know the distinction between the two truths will not be confused about the teachings of the Able One. By accumulating all those collections, they will surely go to the perfection of the other shore. Those who are skilled in distinguishing the two truths are endowed with the wisdom that generates the benefit of beings. Having realized the vast teachings of the Sugata, and accumulated all the collections of merit and wisdom in the world, the benefit of oneself and others will be perfected, and one will surely go to the incomparable other shore. Others will also fulfill their wishes as they desire. Conventional and ultimate, the two truths spoken by the Able One. The words "such and such a sutra" are superfluous. How things appear, that alone is conventional, the other is the ultimate, another name for the truth. As seen by cowherd girls and so on, thus the conventional truth is established, but it is not real, because it corresponds to what is seen, therefore it is grasped as real. What is seen is of two kinds:
