From then on, unbearable falls into evil destinies will come. When suffering is burned by the fire of pain like this, From the clouds of merit, may I be able to pacify the suffering with the rain of my own happiness. When will I be able to do that? When, in a way that is free from clinging, I respectfully accumulate the accumulations of merit, To those who are ruined by clinging, When will I be able to teach emptiness? This concludes the ninth chapter, the chapter on the perfection of wisdom, from Engaging in the Conduct of a Bodhisattva. By whatever virtue there is from my composing the Engaging in the Conduct of a Bodhisattva, May all beings engage in the conduct of a bodhisattva. In all directions, bodies and minds, As many beings as there are who are sick with suffering, May they obtain an ocean of happiness and joy through my merit. As long as they remain in samsara, May they never decline from happiness, May beings obtain the uninterrupted happiness of a bodhisattva. In the realms of the world, all the hells, As many as there are, In those places, may embodied beings Be joyful with the happiness of bliss. May those tormented by cold obtain warmth, From the great clouds of bodhisattvas, From the endless rivers that arise, May those tormented by heat be cooled. May the forests of sword leaves Become dense forests of sandalwood, May the trees of the Shalmali Become wish-fulfilling trees. May the thickets of owls and geese, And the sounds of laughter and other sweet sounds, Be beautiful. May the hellish places be delightful With lakes full of lotuses and great fragrance. May those piles of coal become piles of jewels, May the scorched earth become a crystal ground. May the mountains of crushing and destroying Become immeasurable mansions of offerings, filled with Sugatas. May the rain of burning embers, stones, and weapons, From now on become a rain of flowers. May those who strike each other with weapons, From now on throw flowers for sport. Those who sink into the river of countless hot pits, Their flesh all destroyed, leaving only piles of bones, The color of kunda flowers, By the power of my virtue, having obtained a divine body, Together with goddesses, may they slowly dwell in that place. Why is it that here, the people of Yama, and the unbearable crows and vultures, are frightened? From where does this excellent power of dispelling darkness and creating happiness arise?
