In order to show that understanding the meaning of what has been made into chapters is unique, it is said, "If" and so on. "Saying that" and so on means that even those have been completely abandoned. In order to show the reason for understanding abandonment, it is said, "It should be said" and so on. "That itself" means having the nature of emptiness. "Profound" means because the meaning is difficult to understand. "Terrifying" means because of hearing only the sound. "Just from previous habituation" means that in previous lives, hearing and thinking and so on have been done on suchness. "This will surely be realized" means understanding without doubt. "Extensive hearing" means having the nature of extensive hearing based on relying on a virtuous friend. "By others" means those who have not been habituated before. "Will not understand" means will not realize suchness. Therefore, "rules" means the nature of the imputed, the dependent, and the thoroughly established. "Combining with one's own intelligence" means that Vasubandhu and others established with their own intelligence. "Having seen those" means having seen other rules. Like "like the tenets that speak of self," it is like the treatises of the Tirthikas that clarify the self and so on. "Other systems" means the views of Vasubandhu and others. "From this tenet" means from the tenets of Master Nagarjuna. "To others" means from what was seen by Master Vasubandhu and others. "Abandoning joy" means not placing firm faith in those. Here, the tenets of Master Nagarjuna are abandoned, because the reason is shown that one has not previously been habituated to suchness. In order to show that by commentary, it is said, "How" and so on. "Abandoning desire and form and formless afflictions" means that there is no mundane path gathered by the above, which has become the antidote to the afflictions of the peak of existence.

Thinking that one can measure the depth of emptiness, it means that one has completely understood emptiness. Other tenets, it means that it was made by Vasubandhu and others. The tenets that make the self manifest, it means like what is done in non-Buddhist scriptures. Joyful wisdom should be abandoned, it means do not think that this is the only correct one. One should be amazed at the view of merely believing in emptiness, it means that one should be firm in one's faith only in believing in emptiness. In order to show the complete dedication of merit, the teacher and others are spoken of. The good reason is proclaimed, it means that from the point of view of showing the nature of the conventional and ultimate, may the merit that I have obtained go to all the places of the Sugatas in the world, it should be connected in this way. Pervading all directions, it means that merit pervades all directions and is infinite. Mind-space, it means that only consciousness is space, so it is mind-space, because it has the nature of emptiness. What is the space of consciousness like? Stained by afflictions
