Praises. The meaning of this is that, with the reasoning that will be explained, it prevents arising from self, other, both, and without a cause. Because there is no thing, there is no oneness. From one gathering, many are said to arise, but because one is not established, many do not exist, so it is neither one nor many. Benefiting oneself and others is the removal of adventitious stains through the power of the Dharmakaya. Merely benefiting oneself and others is the great perfection, and because it is the cause of that, it is the basis. "Not a thing, not without a thing" means that, according to the reasoning previously explained, a thing is not established, so the absence of a thing dependent on it is also not established. Like the sky, of equal taste, meaning that the state with stains and without stains is the same. The nature is difficult to express, meaning that it is beyond the scope of knowledge. Without stain, meaning not stained by adventitious stains. Unchanging, meaning that even if adventitious stains are cleared away, it does not change. Peaceful, meaning that all elaborations are completely pacified. Unequal and equal, meaning that the Dharmakaya, which has no equal, is equal to others. This is said by considering the Dharmakaya as other, but in reality, there is no difference in the Dharmakaya. Pervasive, meaning that it pervades sentient beings and the vessel world. Without characteristics, meaning without characteristics such as the skandha of form. Each individually knows, meaning that without fixating on anything, things are naturally realized. Dharmakaya, meaning what is the nature of all dharmas. The first cause of perfection, meaning that although there are many causes such as generating the mind of enlightenment, because these are the first, they are called the first. Cause is the maker. Called the first perfection, just as through perfection all enjoyments are obtained, similarly, through the power of this cause, Buddhahood itself will be obtained, so the cause that has the nature of compassion is expressed with the word perfection. Samsara, meaning what is the cause of wandering, so it is samsara, referring to the place of the five destinies of beings, but not the five skandhas that wander in samsara, because they are mind.

It is indicated by the word "having." Samsara itself is called a prison, just as sentient beings experience suffering in the enclosure of a prison, so too in samsara, they experience many sufferings such as birth and so on. "Bound" means being bound there by afflictions. "Without refuge" means there is nothing that can liberate from bondage. "Completely protecting" means liberating from the prison of samsara. "Having characteristics" means its nature is compassion. Therefore, praising the one who leads out from suffering and the cause of suffering is called compassion. "Worthy of praise" means that which is worthy of expressing qualities as they are. The meaning here is that initially, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas should be praised, but in order to dispel the doubt of why great compassion is praised first, and in order to explain that great compassion is worthy of praise, these two verses are spoken. Among them, the first verse mainly explains the non-dual wisdom and great compassion of the Bodhisattva. The second verse mainly explains that great compassion is superior to the mind of enlightenment and non-dual wisdom. "Thuba" refers to Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas, because their body, speech, and mind are completely tamed. The first one refers to the Buddha himself. The other meanings of the words are explained in the commentary. The meaning of the words here is that because Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are born from the perfectly complete Buddha, the perfectly complete Buddha is born from the Bodhisattva, and the Bodhisattva is also born from great compassion and non-dual wisdom and the mind of enlightenment, therefore, praise is given to great compassion. In order to explain the meaning of the word "born from Thubwang," therefore, "those" etc. are spoken. Among them, "those" means showing the meaning of the word "born from Thubwang" from the general words. The unsurpassed Dharma refers to the Mahayana. "自在(dbang phyug)" means that which shows the thoughts of the beings to be tamed.
