These words spoken by the Bhagavan are true, and it is unreasonable for them to become meaningless. What is the reason? For what reason? Is it the abiding arising and ceasing, existence or non-existence? Is it inferior, equal, or superior? Is it spoken by the Buddha with worldly authority, or with true authority? Here, due to the power of knowledge that is inverted and not inverted, there are two truths regarding phenomena: conventional truth and ultimate truth, which are terms used by the noble ones. It is not only the noble ones who establish the two truths, but also those in the world who are skilled in worldly terminology also use the two truths. In this way, the meaning of truth is that which is not apparent but is imputed, and when terminology is established with reason, it is called conventional truth. Where the meaning of truth is not non-apparent and there is no imputation, when terminology is established with reason, it is established as the only ultimate truth. For the time being, regarding that which is called conventional, one should not abandon contemplation of its object simply because worldly people understand an untrue meaning. Whatever is considered true in worldly terminology, the noble ones also consider it to be worldly conventional truth, and just as terminology is applied to non-existent things, it is said to be meaningless. That is also to be understood as false. The noble ones will explain, and will closely show with reasoning that is widely known to worldly people, because it is in order to understand the unknown through widely known examples. Therefore, here, if worldly terminology is analyzed, because the true meaning is not established, the noble ones say that worldly terminology is conventional truth. The term conventional truth is not a synonym for worldly terminology, because it exists in two ways due to the distinction between conventional truth and ultimate truth, and because the term conventional truth is used to express one aspect of terminology. By the power of reason, the meaning here is that for worldly terminology, the term conventional truth is used to express it, that is, like this, 'cow' is worldly terminology, this is worldly conventional truth, that is not its nature, the noble ones should say.

Moreover, terms and conventional expressions are merely designations, and there is no fault in that. As it is said in the sutras: What is conventional truth? It is as long as worldly terms are shown by letters and language. Or, what is called worldly term here? In that regard, just as fire depends on firewood, the person who is imputed based on the aggregates is called the world. And that is of two kinds: mistaken and not mistaken. Among them, those with impaired senses, such as those with blurred vision, are mistaken, and those who are not mistaken are other than those with unimpaired senses, such as those without blurred vision. Only this is expressed by the term "worldly person" here, not the other, because only worldly people are not valid cognizers. What is said in worldly terms is also what is meant to be understood by others, the various things that are understood from all aspects, causing conceptualization to arise in the minds of others, that is called a term. The term of worldly people is the worldly term, just as worldly people understand things they want to understand, or things they want to know are understood. Similarly, for that thing, the relationship between the expresser and the expressed, and the knower and the known are separately established, and at other times, for things that do not explain the teachings of terms, like this, the expresser and the expressed, and things with the characteristics of the knower and the known, the nature of things that are approximated by mere inversion is called a term, but it is not related to a collection of agents. It is also because worldly people consider that to be true, so it is called the truth of the term of worldly people, it is the same. For the time being, these are true from the perspective of the mistaken knowledge of worldly people, and from the perspective of the not mistaken, the ultimate truth is established. Again, what is the knowledge that is not mistaken? That is, it does not add anything falsely with what is not real. Also, what is it that does not add anything falsely with what is not real? That is what focuses on the nature of things as they are. Again, what is this true nature of things as they are?
