It does not change. At any time when thoroughly examined, if it does not become a result different from the cause, then at that time, the arising and ceasing of the result without a basis, and the cause does not perish. As the Bhagavan said: Sentient beings, whether human or powerfully born, whoever is born and dies here will not be reborn. All dharmas are illusory and empty in nature, which non-Buddhists cannot understand. Thus, it is extensively taught. Similarly, birth and death, there is no birth and no death. Whoever knows this, it is not difficult to attain samadhi. Thus, it is said. Therefore, when thoroughly examined in this way, the nature of things does not become established, so for each thing, like an illusion, that itself will completely remain. Therefore, in this way, having generated the wisdom of all aspects, wanting to liberate all beings, knowing that the illusory person fools the foolish, and the non-foolish generate wonder. Here, for things deluded by attachment to what appears to be true, eliminating existence, in order to benefit all beings, manifesting the three—great compassion, the mind of enlightenment, and non-dual wisdom—which become the cause of unsurpassed wisdom, the wise skillfully create birth in existence, and truly ascertain the afflictions of the nature of samsara and the house of the three existences surrounded by a multitude of burning flames of suffering. Seeing that sentient beings immersed in the center have no protection, and all the sufferings that sentient beings undergo are gathered together, in samsara, from moment to moment, one is not frightened even by various harms to body and mind. Each moment of effort made joyfully in samsara by the simultaneous gathering of the sufferings of sentient beings should be known as the cause of generating the infinite treasure of the all-knowingness of all sentient beings, and then one can take hundreds of thousands of existences again. As the Bhagavan said: His intention belongs to samsara, his actions belong to nirvana. In order to fully ripen sentient beings through generosity,

without expecting to mature. Similarly, in the Sutra of the Secret of the Thus-Gone One, it says: Great King, at that time, at that moment, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Brave Strength arrived and sat in that assembly. He said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, it is so. Sugata, it is so. Bodhisattvas exert effort and abandon body and life. I seek the meaning of what the Blessed One has said, that if a Bodhisattva thinks, 'I will quickly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment,' then it seems to me that that Bodhisattva is falling into laziness. Why is that? Blessed One, Bodhisattvas who exert effort do not become weary of samsara. Blessed One, Bodhisattvas hold close the maturation of beings and strive for the benefit of samsara, so they are not the great complete nirvana. Blessed One, Bodhisattvas are manifestly diligent for the sake of beings. Why is that? Blessed One, for Bodhisattvas, the great nirvana, which is the most blissful in samsara, is not. Why is that? Blessed One, Bodhisattvas strive for the benefit of all beings, and the more they benefit beings, the more blissful they become. Blessed One, what will one do after complete nirvana? Blessed One, therefore, a Bodhisattva should not taste the bliss of samsara, but should be one who acts in samsara, not one who acts in nirvana. Blessed One, the Bodhisattva who acts in samsara, not tasting the bliss of samsara, strives for the benefit of beings, and thus accommodates countless Buddhas, Blessed Ones, accommodates countless Dharmas, and matures countless beings. Blessed One, the Bodhisattva who acts in samsara
