Therefore, there is no example, and there will be slander against the object. If it is thought that what appears in the object is the object of the mind, then what other nature of the mind is there other than what appears in the object? Because it is produced like others, the two appear. It is not considered like crystal, because it is produced from the proximate cause, so it is not a moment of crystal. When that ceases and another is produced, that mind is considered to be confused. If dualistic appearance does not exist, the function is not other, just like the appearance of the object. The mind is the appearance of self and other, because they arise together similarly. It is not considered like an image, therefore it is not a dualistic appearance. If it is thought to be a dualistic appearance because the valid cognition has a result, because those are also established in other places, that conceptual thought is not accepted either. Because the consciousness that grasps the appearance of the object is arising, measuring the measurable, the measurer, therefore that is considered to be valid cognition. The nature that cannot be indicated, similarly, what realization is attained. If one wants to say what is to be established, the external object is the reality of the mind, because it is the object of consciousness, for example, like the immediately preceding condition. Therefore, each mental factor will become a confusion of the cause. The Sutra says only mind, in order to negate the agent and the enjoyer. If consciousness is established because conceptual thought sees the meaning, because it is not conceptual thought, there is meaning, so it will not be without an object. Even in dreams, the nature of non-conceptual thought, the mind will not be certain. It is not considered to be without an object, because the example is not well established. If mind and object are two kinds, and they are thought to be the same and aggregated, when thoroughly examined with reason, neither of those two is reasonable. Among them, a single particle of form is not the object of the form mind, because it will not become that appearance, just as the root consciousness is not the object. Many extremely subtle forms are not considered to be the object of the mind, because they are not real, for example, like two moons. Among them, if the opponent establishes that a non-accumulated form is the object of the mind, then there it will become establishing what is to be established. If for an accumulated form, the reason is not established, because other forms are accumulated there.
