If one accepts that all phenomena are only mind, if not, who bears the burden of virtue and vice? Then one would become a nihilistic materialist. The answer to this is: Things have no truth, and the arising of karma is like a dream. Because things are non-existent in this way, for that unborn and non-existent nature, merely clinging to dependent origination for a long time, at that time one will experience the results of karma. The Sutra of the King of Samadhi says: In this world there is no death, nor is there any going to other worlds. It is impossible for the effect of karma to disappear; it will give the results of what has been done. In beginningless samsara. The Lankavatara Sutra says: Whoever constantly speaks of emptiness has abandoned existence and annihilation. The name of samsara is dream and illusion; it is impossible to go without karma. The Sutra of the Samadhi Equal to Space says: What was done before will not be exhausted. Is that which is not exhausted virtuous or non-virtuous? What the Sugata did before will not be exhausted. The Bodhicitta of the Bodhisattva will not be exhausted. What has been done to obtain stability will not be exhausted. Karma will not disappear, even after countless eons. When the conditions come together, sentient beings will experience the results. The nature of unborn. Thus it is said. How is it that if Ishvara does not emanate, how do sentient beings arise? Like the son of a barren woman, he can also give birth to a son. These sentient beings were not originally born. Consciousness and so on were not originally born; they are phenomena that arise from dependent origination. Therefore, Ishvara and so on cannot cause them to arise. Since sentient beings were not originally self-born, and Ishvara himself is not established, therefore, Ishvara, who arises from dependent origination, cannot cause them to arise. The Lankavatara Sutra says: Birth and death, these two, are seen by foolish children. Unborn and undying, these two, are seen in this way by those with wisdom. The Sutra of the King of Samadhi says: Existence and non-existence, these two have no end. Purity and impurity, these two also have no end. Abandoning these two, there is nothing that exists in the middle. The wise should understand in this way. Since the flourishing of the Madhyamaka, any conceptualization is merely conceptualization.

Therefore, conceptualization is without result. Thus it is said by the wise. Conceptualization binds ordinary beings, Through examination, one is liberated. By doing that, one is liberated. Yogis see it as emptiness. Just as one sees a cataract, As one sees through the application of medicine. That cataract also becomes clear. Due to the cataract of ignorance, With eyes obscured, taking birth and death as real, It is said to those who are unable to be liberated due to the power of habit. This is said to worldly people who wander meaninglessly. For those without a doer and without a feeler, Without doing the meaning of liberation, they wander in ultimate truth. Or, like a city of illusion, wandering meaninglessly in the ocean of existence. The venerable Deva said: Neither existence nor non-existence, both are not. The place where existence and non-existence mix is also not. Apart from that, there is also nothing else. Even after a long examination, It is very difficult to express such words. This is an explanation of the selflessness of phenomena, abandoning all phenomena of existence, non-existence, birth, and death. Chapter One. Now, to show that the aggregates are without self, it is said based on conventional truth. The way of birth for worldly people is: From conceptualization, the world arises. That is to say, conceptualization is the thought of virtue and non-virtue. What arises from that interdependence is the worldly. Through virtue and non-virtue, taking aggregates in the six realms, that is the name of the worldly. It is generated by conceptualization. Water or fruit, etc., are taken through conceptualization and interdependence. Taking birth produces mind, From mind arises self-grasping, From that, others also arise. This is also said in the Precious Garland: Until the aggregates are destroyed, Self-grasping will arise. At the time of self-grasping, One also creates karma and takes birth. In the three times, without end, The wheel of cyclic existence that revolves in the center, Revolves like a wheel of fire. It is the cycle produced by the gathering of interdependence. As for the body also arising from the mind, It means that if there is a self, then others will arise. Due to the division of self and other, anger arises. By these two, one is tightly bound, All faults arise from this. Just by examining the body
