This is to explain the reason for the action. Because of possessing the great wisdom of the union of tranquility and insight, when practicing and abiding in the dharmas of the path to enlightenment, these dharmas are merely to be understood, but in the ultimate sense, they have no substance, therefore they are not to be realized. This is for the sake of understanding this. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, from "This is the time to practice the Prajnaparamita" to "This is not the time to realize the wisdom of a Pratyekabuddha," it explains that one will neither degenerate from the dharmas of the path to enlightenment nor realize the exhaustion of defilements, as previously stated. It elaborates and explains in detail from which dharmas of the path to enlightenment one will not degenerate, and which dharmas of the exhaustion of defilements one will not realize. That is, practicing and familiarizing oneself with the pure dharmas such as the six perfections, these dharmas that need to be habituated are to be understood, but not for the purpose of attaining the fruits of a Shravaka and a Pratyekabuddha, one should observe in this way. One should observe "This is the time to not abandon the attainment of all-knowingness," that is, if one realizes the fruits of a Shravaka and a Pratyekabuddha, one will abandon all-knowingness, one should not do that. Subhuti, therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, from "completely familiarizing oneself with emptiness and practicing with emptiness" to "not realizing Arhatship, not realizing Pratyekabuddha enlightenment," it is the Blessed One's detailed explanation of Subhuti's previous question, "How does one who abides in emptiness not realize emptiness?" It summarizes and explains the meaning of what was said. It is merely to familiarize oneself with and habituate oneself to the dharmas such as the three doors of liberation with wisdom, and to abide in these dharmas, that is, to realize the undefiled dharmas like Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas.

This is to show that it is not so. Subhuti, for example, a man is brave and skilled, from "not manifesting any signless samadhi, so that he abides in the ground of a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha," it explains that a Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom with skillful means can also realize that all dharmas are empty, and does not manifest the Nirvana of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. This is an example taken from a brave, skilled, and skillful man to show. Other words are just repetitions. The sixty-four arts refer to being proficient in various methods of skill, various methods of enmity, various manufacturing tools, and various tools for livelihood calculation. For example, such a brave man goes to a very dangerous wilderness, and even if enemies appear, he can rescue his parents and children from danger and place them in safety by virtue of his bravery, skill, and skillful means. The enemy cannot harm himself, nor will he cause harm to the enemy. Similarly, a Bodhisattva who possesses skillful means can also bestow immeasurable love on all sentient beings, perfect the six perfections, abide in the three doors of liberation, and be familiar with the meaning of attaining all-knowingness, but they do not cling to these signs. They also do not manifest the signless samadhi that would cause them to fall into the ground of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. This shows that the great warrior is an example of a Bodhisattva with skillful means, parents and children are examples of all sentient beings, the many refuting enemies are examples of the unwholesome friends of the Lesser Vehicle, and towns, cities, villages, and regions are examples of the Bodhisattva's path being safe and without the danger of falling into the ground of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, it should be understood in this way. Subhuti, for example, just as a bird flies in the sky and does not fall to the ground, from "practicing immeasurable Buddha-dharmas, thereby attaining all-knowingness," it explains the practice of Prajna
