The so-called "Lineage Ground" refers to the time when practicing the five powers on the ground of practice with faith, because one obtains the supreme of worldly dharma and transforms into the lineage of noble ones, hence it is called the Lineage Ground. The so-called "Thinned Ground" refers to abiding in the Once-Returner ground, making the desire for desire and malice thin, hence the Once-Returner ground is called the Thinned Ground. The so-called "Ground of Freedom from Desire" refers to abiding in the Non-Returner ground, completely abandoning desire and malice, hence the Non-Returner ground is called the Ground of Freedom from Desire. The so-called "Accomplished Ground" refers to the time when one becomes an Arhat, abandoning all the afflictions of the three realms, having done what needed to be done and unloaded the burden, and knowing that one will not take another aggregate from then on, hence the Arhat ground is called the Accomplished Ground. The so-called "Solitary Buddha" refers to a person of sharp wisdom in the Small Vehicle who realizes the meaning of dependent origination without being taught by others, hence it is called the Solitary Buddha Ground. The so-called "Bodhisattva Ground" refers to the ten grounds of the Bodhisattva. The so-called "Buddha Ground" refers to the Buddha Ground, called Universal Light, which possesses qualities such as mirror-like wisdom, equality wisdom, discriminating wisdom, and accomplishing wisdom. Among them, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva learning the ten grounds, it is not that even with the first generation of mind, one will manifestly and completely awaken to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, from... to the Bhagavan saying that the Bodhisattva Mahasattva manifestly and completely awakens to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, profound dependent origination! In between, is the Bhagavan's summary of the above-mentioned content.

And thereby gave instructions. Subhuti (rab 'byor) also repeated these words and meanings and reported: Such dependent arising as this, those who are not skilled in means and have characteristics cannot realize, therefore it is profound. The Blessed One instructed: Subhuti, what do you think? That mind which has ceased, will it arise again? etc., this is to instruct that in the ultimate truth, all dharmas are naturally nirvana. That mind which has ceased, will it arise again? This means that in the ultimate truth, the mind is without substance, and the naturally nirvana mind will not become substantial. That mind which has arisen, is it subject to destruction? This means that the mind which arises in the conventional truth is also without substance in the ultimate truth. That which is subject to destruction, will it be destroyed? This means that in the ultimate truth, the dharma which is without substance and naturally nirvana will not be destroyed in the future. Will such Suchness abide as it is? This means that such non-arising and non-ceasing dharma will not change the nature of Suchness, and is completely established. Subhuti, if Suchness abides as it is, then will it not become permanent? This is a question raised to show the difference from the eternalist views of the non-Buddhists. Reported: Blessed One, it is not so. The non-Buddhists see permanence from the substantial, but here it is said that Suchness abides as it is from the non-substantial, and therefore it will not be like the non-Buddhists' view of permanence. Suchness is profound. It means that such unchanging and completely established dharma is not permanent, and it is not the object of those with characteristics, therefore it is instructed to be profound. Is that mind also like that? This is asking, is that mind also so profound as Suchness? Reported: Blessed One, it is not so. It means that the mind of arising and ceasing in the conventional truth is not so profound.
