The mind that aims at and dedicates to unsurpassed Bodhi is of the nature of an instant. It is exhausted, ceased, and without substance. Because it does not abide in one nature, the mind that dedicates is also non-existent. That is its meaning. Those things, those aims, and those roots of virtue are also exhausted, ceased, and non-existent. If they are transformed, it means the objects of merit, such as giving, and the object to which dedication is made, unsurpassed Bodhi, and the roots of virtue done by giving and so on, are also momentary. Because in the ultimate sense, no object is established as existing, they are exhausted, ceased, and non-existent. If they are transformed, what is dedicated to where? That is its meaning. Exhaustion, cessation, non-existence, and transformation are terms for impermanence and insubstantiality because they are of the nature of an instant. What is the mind of rejoicing? What are those things? What are those aims? What are those roots of virtue? To be dedicated to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment means that if all those minds of rejoicing, objects such as giving, the object to be aimed at, unsurpassed Bodhi, and the roots of virtue to be dedicated, are without substance in the ultimate sense, what is there to dedicate? That is its meaning. Does the mind dedicate with the mind? If the mind dedicates with the mind, then the two minds have no chance to meet, which means that both the mind of rejoicing and the mind of dedicating are of the nature of an instant. When the mind of dedicating arises, the mind of rejoicing has ceased and is no more. Therefore, it is not possible for the mind to dedicate with the mind. That is its meaning. That which is the nature of the mind cannot be dedicated either, which means that in the ultimate sense, the nature of the mind is not established as existing. Because it is non-existent, it is not possible to dedicate to what is without substance. This is what is being shown. If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, like this, the Perfection of Wisdom

From "Prajnaparamita is without entity," to "If one dedicates in this way, it will be dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment," it is said that in order to truly understand all dharmas, including the six perfections, up to the attainment of omniscience, one should realize that all dharmas are without entity. Without clinging to their characteristics, one should rejoice in conventional truth and dedicate the merit endowed with rejoicing to unsurpassed enlightenment. In this way, the dedication of merit will be without fault and will be a pure dedication. Then, from "The Lord of the Gods, Indra, spoke to the Venerable Subhuti," to "How did he hold the object of merit with rejoicing and dedicate it to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment?" it is said that pure Bodhisattvas, as mentioned above, having realized in ultimate truth through wisdom that all dharmas are without entity, then through skillful means, dedicate those roots of virtue in conventional truth to unsurpassed enlightenment. If the dedication is without fault and is pure, then if newly entered Bodhisattvas who do not possess skillful means and wisdom hear this teaching that all dharmas are without entity, will they be frightened or not? How should one dedicate those roots of virtue and the object of merit endowed with rejoicing to unsurpassed enlightenment? Indra asked Subhuti. Then, from "The Venerable Subhuti, focusing on the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya, said these words to the Lord of the Gods, Indra," it is to teach the method of dedicating roots of virtue in a way that is without focus and without characteristics to newly entered Bodhisattvas in the Mahayana. In order to make all the retinue believe, it is shown that he spoke focusing on Maitreya. Thus, focusing on Maitreya, it is not that Subhuti himself spoke with his own power and courage, but it is to show that it will be spoken by the blessing of the noble Maitreya.

For this reason. Kausika, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly entered the Mahayana practices the Prajnaparamita and holds the Prajnaparamita with the aspect of non-objectification and the aspect of no-sign, and even practices the Sarvakarajnata, and holds the Sarvakarajnata with the aspect of non-objectification and the aspect of no-sign, then, how to dedicate the objects of merit that possess roots of virtue and rejoice to the unsurpassed Bodhi, that is, it shows: all the Dharmas between the six Paramitas and the Sarvakarajnata are without self-nature in the ultimate truth, so they are not objectified and their signs are not held, but in the conventional truth, they are practiced and upheld, and if the roots of virtue of such practice are completely dedicated to the unsurpassed Bodhi, then the dedication of merit will become faultless and completely pure, this is what is shown. Therefore, great faith and joy arise in the Prajnaparamita, and even great faith and joy arise in the Sarvakarajnata. One will be completely taken care of by a virtuous friend, until the content in between, because one possesses such skillful means and wisdom, one also realizes the absence of signs and objects in the ultimate truth, and in the conventional truth, one practices these Dharmas and dedicates the roots of virtue completely purely, so there is no fear and dread of the profound Dharma, and there is no doubt and hesitation about all the pure Dharmas between the six Paramitas and the Sarvakarajnata, so great faith and joy will arise, and because one becomes a vessel of the profound Dharma, the benefit of being completely taken care of by a virtuous friend is shown. These virtuous friends will also explain these six Paramitas truthfully and rationally, and in any case, they will never be separated from the eighteen unshared Dharmas of the Buddha until the Bodhisattva is without defects and reaches the ultimate, so they will explain.
