It is the main reason and shows the logic of its power. The term "producing" means that it is the cause of completely perfecting all the virtuous dharmas belonging to the three vehicles. The term "completely gathering and truly gathering" means that all the virtuous dharmas belonging to the three vehicles are completely grasped and completely pervaded by the Prajnaparamita. Sharadvatiputra, the previous Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyak-sambuddhas also practiced this Prajnaparamita, and thereby attained the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, etc. This shows that Prajnaparamita is the main cause for the Buddhas, the Bhagavad-ones of the three times, to manifest and attain the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Sharadvatiputra, if the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not become discouraged or deluded when the Prajnaparamita is taught, Sharadvatiputra, that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, in order to protect all sentient beings, in order not to completely abandon all sentient beings, practices with the aspect of non-objectification, it should be known that he practices with this aspect. This means that if one practices the completely purified dharmas such as the six paramitas, practicing with the three wheels completely purified is completely training the path of enlightenment. When that profound dharma is taught, if one does not become discouraged with faith and trust, and does not become deluded with sharp wisdom, then it should be known that that Bodhisattva practices on this profound Prajnaparamita, and in the conventional truth, he can also protect all sentient beings, and it should be known that he is able to completely not abandon all sentient beings. That Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is like this, it should be known that he does not depart from the attention of great compassion, which means that in this way, practicing on the profound meaning of Prajnaparamita, and protecting all sentient beings and completely not abandoning all sentient beings, that is the Bodhisattva.

It should be known that the Bodhisattva possesses great compassion and attention. It is said: The venerable Subhuti practices in such a way, that is, without being separated from the attention of great compassion, if one wishes to be a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, venerable Subhuti, in that case, all sentient beings should also become Bodhisattvas. Why is that? Venerable Subhuti, all sentient beings are also not separated from attention. It is said that Subhuti praised not being separated from the attention of great compassion, and Shariputra, thinking and observing from the ultimate truth, made this difficulty: Attention is discrimination, and if there is discrimination, then one cannot realize the purity of the Dharma realm, so it should not be called a Bodhisattva. If it is said that those who are not separated from attention and have discrimination are also Bodhisattvas, then all sentient beings are not separated from attention and have discrimination, and they should all become Bodhisattvas. However, such a transformation is not allowed by reason, so one should not praise not being separated from attention. Subhuti replied: Venerable Shariputra, well done, well done! The meaning of your question, venerable Shariputra, is well received with truthful words. It is said that the meaning of Shariputra's difficulty is right in my mind, because the meaning of being able to ask and question is appropriate, so praise it as well done! Why is that? It is said that, venerable Shariputra, because sentient beings are unattainable, it should be known that attention is also unattainable. It is said that in the ultimate truth, the entity of sentient beings is unattainable, so the attention that arises from those sentient beings with great compassion is also non-existent in the ultimate truth, and because there is no attention, the arising of attention should not be reasonable, so it is difficult to make this meaning, which is right in my mind, so it is said to be well done! The entity of sentient beings is unattainable, the self-nature of sentient beings is unattainable, the emptiness of sentient beings, the tranquility of sentient beings, these are just different names for non-existence. Because sentient beings do not manifest, attention also does not manifest.

It should be understood. The meaning of "Thus, because there are no sentient beings, those sentient beings do not actually attain enlightenment; and because there is no mental activity in reality, there is no actual attainment of enlightenment through mental activity" is this. The absence of sentient beings, the absence of entities of sentient beings, the absence of inherent existence of sentient beings, the emptiness of sentient beings, the solitude of sentient beings, and the non-attainment of perfect enlightenment by sentient beings—these demonstrate the absence of self in persons. O Venerable Sharadvatiputra, because there is no form, it should be understood that there is no mental activity. From "O Venerable Sharadvatiputra, therefore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should understand that he is inseparable from the mental activity of great compassion" up to the point where all mundane dharmas such as form, and all supramundane dharmas up to omniscience such as the six perfections and unsurpassed enlightenment, are also absent, without entities, without inherent existence, empty, solitary, and do not attain perfect enlightenment, should be applied as before. This shows the meaning of the absence of self in phenomena. Thus, by the power and blessing of actually realizing the absence of self in both persons and phenomena, without mental activity and without conceptualization, spontaneously accomplishing the protection of all sentient beings, and not abandoning all sentient beings, it should be understood that this itself is inseparable from the mental activity of great compassion. Then, the Blessed One gave approval to the Venerable Subhuti, that is, through "Excellent" and so on, in order to make the audience understand without doubt the meaning of the profound Prajnaparamita spoken by Subhuti to Shariputra, by the power and blessing of the Tathagata, it was shown that "It is good that you have spoken thus, and others should also teach and learn in this way." When the Venerable Subhuti spoke this chapter of the Prajnaparamita, the three thousand great thousand worlds
