It should be combined in such a way that it reaches the eighteen unmixed dharmas of the Buddha. Sharadvatiputra, therefore, form is not attainable. Feeling is not attainable. Perception is not attainable. Formation is not attainable. Consciousness is not attainable. Like this, because all dharmas do not have an agent who manifests, Subhuti concludes and shows the meaning of unattainability. Sharadvatiputra, if someone says this: 'Why is it that what is unattainable, as said by the venerable Subhuti, is not form?' etc., this is the word of Shariputra previously asking Subhuti: 'Why is it that whatever is unattainable is not form?' etc., after Subhuti repeated it, he answered: 'Form, etc., up to the eighteen unmixed dharmas of the Buddha, are empty of nature, without arising and ceasing, and there is no change other than abiding.' Therefore, it is shown that whatever is unattainable is not the nature of form, etc. Sharadvatiputra, therefore, whatever is unmanifested and unaccumulated is not form. Until whatever is unmanifested and unaccumulated is not all-knowingness. Like this, because all dharmas are empty of nature, without arising and ceasing, they are unmanifested and unaccumulated. Like this, unmanifested and unaccumulated, and unattainable, those dharmas from the five aggregates of form, etc., up to all-knowingness, are not the nature of anything. Subhuti concludes and shows the meaning of unattainability. Sharadvatiputra, if someone says this: 'Why is it that the unattainable Prajnaparamita, how should it be taught and accordingly shown?' etc., this is what Subhuti previously said: 'For the unattainable Bodhisattva, how should the unattainable Prajnaparamita be taught and accordingly shown?' To this, Shariputra asked Subhuti: 'Why do you say that?' The answer of Shari

Then, the Venerable Subhuti said to Shariputra: "Venerable Shariputra, whatever is unattainable is the Perfection of Wisdom. Whatever is the Perfection of Wisdom is unattainable. Thus, unattainability and the Perfection of Wisdom are non-dual and indivisible. This is how the bodhisattva who is to be instructed and guided in the Perfection of Wisdom, and the Perfection of Wisdom itself, are both not truly existent in ultimate reality. They are of one nature in unattainability, so there is no difference. Venerable Shariputra, if a specific example must be given, then it should be said like this: How can the Perfection of Wisdom be instructed and guided through unattainability? This is the way it was said above, that both the bodhisattva and the Perfection of Wisdom are unattainable in ultimate reality, and they are of one taste in emptiness, without difference. How can they be instructed and guided? This is the teaching that concludes the meaning. Venerable Shariputra, if someone were to say: 'Why is it that apart from unattainability, one cannot see a bodhisattva who practices bodhi?' etc., this is like before, when Shariputra asked Subhuti: 'Why is it that apart from unattainability, you cannot see a bodhisattva who practices bodhi?' Subhuti repeated the question and explained its meaning in detail, that in ultimate reality, unattainability and bodhisattva are non-dual and indivisible, and they are of one taste in emptiness. Just as unattainability and the bodhisattva are of one taste in emptiness in ultimate reality, without difference, and indivisible, so too, the five aggregates from form, etc., up to all-knowingness, should be understood in the same way. Venerable Shariputra, if someone were to say: 'Why is it that when taught in this way, the bodhisattva mahasattva, if he does not abide'

If one does not become frightened or terrified, then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, as it is said, and so on, as above. Shariputra asked Subhuti, "Why do you explain the profound meaning of the Perfection of Wisdom in such a way that if one is not fearless, not alarmed, and not terrified, then one practices the Perfection of Wisdom?" Subhuti repeated the question and explained its meaning in detail. "O son of Sharadvati, the venerable Shariputra, in this way, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva truly sees that all phenomena are without action, and truly sees that all phenomena are like dreams, etc., which means that in the ultimate sense, one realizes that all phenomena have no cause for arising or ceasing. One truly sees them as like dreams, illusions, mirages, reflections, optical illusions, and transformations. Therefore, upon hearing the profound Dharma of no arising and no ceasing, one will not be frightened or terrified." This is what was taught. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One, "Blessed One, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, when he thoroughly understands those dharmas, saying, 'This is form,' he does not fixate on form, does not grasp, does not abide, does not cling, and does not bind," and so on, as mentioned above, it is taught that the result of realizing that all dharmas are undifferentiated and of one taste in emptiness is that one becomes unattached to all dharmas, including form. "When he thoroughly understands those dharmas in this way" means that when one thoroughly understands those dharmas mentioned above, both mundane and supramundane, as being of one taste in emptiness. "'This is form,' but he does not fixate on form" means not grasping at characteristics with perception. "Does not grasp" means not conceiving of them as real with the mind. "Does not abide" means not abiding in it after realizing emptiness with wisdom. "Does not cling" means not clinging with views.
