It is like this. The meaning of "not applying" is to name and praise with words, but not to show it to others. Similarly, for worldly dharmas such as feelings, and the eighteen unmixed dharmas of the Buddha, it should be declared in this way. World Honored One, furthermore, when Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices Prajnaparamita, regarding "This is Samadhi and the gate of Dharani," they do not cling to all Samadhi and Dharani gates, do not take, do not abide, do not cling, and do not apply. The meaning of "not applying" is that even to the letters such as the letter A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿) which are the gate of Samadhi and the gate of Dharani, they do not cling to the characteristics and do not cling. Why is that? Because when Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices Prajnaparamita, "not truly seeing form accordingly" and so on, just like the order mentioned above, regarding all worldly and transcendental dharmas, they do not cling to the characteristics and do not cling, this is explaining the reason. That is, regarding all dharmas such as form, up to the omniscient wisdom, because these dharmas are not established as truly existent in the ultimate sense, they are not truly seen as truly existent, therefore they do not cling to the characteristics of these dharmas and do not cling. World Honored One, why is that? Because, what is called the unbornness of form is not form. Thus, form and unbornness are not two, and cannot be made into two. And so on, this is explaining the reason for not truly seeing all dharmas accordingly as mentioned above. That is, in the ultimate sense, form is unborn, because unbornness does not have the nature of form, therefore it is not truly seen accordingly. Thus, form and unbornness are not two, and cannot be made into two. The meaning is that form and unbornness have no reality in the ultimate sense, and because they are of one taste, there is no difference. Why is that? World Honored One, because unbornness is not one.

Not two, not many, not different, this is called "unborn," meaning that in ultimate reality, things do not exist. For things that do not exist, they cannot be counted numerically, nor can they be distinguished as different, this is what is to be expressed. Why is that? "Whatever is the unborn of form, that is not form," this is because the unborn does not have the nature of form, so the meaning is summarized and explained. Similarly, from feeling up to all-knowingness, all phenomena of the mundane and supramundane should be applied in the same way. O Blessed One, the so-called "decay of form, that is not form," etc., is because all phenomena such as form are not truly existent in ultimate reality, and the inverted view that they are existent is called decay because they will later change and decay. Therefore, from the perspective of non-reality, the imputed form with the nature of decay is not a true form in ultimate reality, that is its meaning. Thus, form and decay are not one, nor can they be separated, because in ultimate reality, they are of the same essence in emptiness, and cannot be distinguished as different, that is its meaning. Why is that? O Blessed One, just like this, "decay is not one, not two," etc., this is an explanation of the reason for non-duality, that is, starting from the non-substantiality of form, the inverted view that form is real, permanent, and has the nature of decay, is not truly existent in ultimate reality, therefore it cannot be distinguished as one and many, etc., this is what is to be expressed. Similarly, feelings, etc., up to all-knowingness, all phenomena of the mundane and supramundane should be applied in the same way. O Blessed One, whatever is called "form" is counted as a phenomenon that is non-dual and does not decay, etc., this is to say that from the aggregate of form to all-knowingness, all phenomena of the mundane and supramundane, which are named, are merely designated and spoken of as "form," "feeling," etc. in conventional truth, but in ultimate reality, all of these are without substance.

Because it is of one taste in essence and does not change from Suchness, it is counted among the dharmas that are non-dual and without decay. This is what Subhuti requested of the Blessed One. The meaning of 'counted as number' is that it belongs to the nature of being non-dual and without decay, or to the characteristic of being non-dual. The Thirteenth Chapter of the Extensive Explanation of the Hundred Thousand Prajnaparamita is complete. Thirteenth Chapter: The Chapter on Non-Duality.
