The so-called door of all dharmas is called Ḍākanā in the Indian language, meaning to cover. Because of the letter Ḍའི་ door, in reality, all dharmas are without substance, hence they are covered by the obscuration of afflictions, and because of afflictions, until the end of samsara, one can realize that there is no transference and arising of life. Therefore, the letter Ḍa indicates that the covering of all dharmas is unattainable, and it is the door to realizing that there is no transference and arising of life, which is what it shows. The reason why these letter syllables are not explained in the order of the letters such as Ka is that the appearance of Dharani mantras does not have a fixed order. Thus, from the words of the Dharani mantras, carefully study and meditate on the meaning of each appearing letter syllable, then one can realize the meaning of the unborn nature of all dharmas, etc. Therefore, Dharani is called the door that generates wisdom and mindfulness. Hence, these letters are called the door of Dharani. The so-called "beyond this, there is no term for letters" means that the letters through which one understands the meaning through letters end there. It means that there is nothing else beyond that. Why is that? Because, no matter what name is used for what, and what is used to describe it, etc., this shows that there is no reason beyond the term for letters. That is, all the terms, descriptions, indications to others, writing of letters, making them appear and clear, and reading, which are expressed through words and letters, are limited to this. All such names are included in this scope, which means that there is nothing else beyond that. Subhuti, just as one should include all dharmas as if they were like space, this indicates that in terms of conventional truth, these Dharani letters pervade all dharmas through the utterance of sounds and terms, and in terms of ultimate truth, it is a metaphor for being of equal taste. Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is proficient in the letters such as A and fully understands this principle, then he will not be attached to sounds, etc. This is explaining the merits of being proficient in this Dharani door. One will not be attached to any sound.
