From the stage of Supreme Joy to the stage of Cloud of Dharma, one should perfect them. What is meant by perfecting the ten practices? It means perfecting the ten Dharma practices for the benefit of sentient beings. The ten Dharma practices are: writing the sacred Dharma, reading, reciting, writing and giving to others, upholding, making offerings, listening, contemplating, meditating, and teaching others. What is meant by perfecting the ten kinds of patience? It refers to patience by nature, patience that does not arise when others harm, patience in accepting suffering, patience with निश्चित conviction in the Dharma, patience in doing what is difficult, patience in the gateway of means, patience of the noble person, patience in all प्रकार, patience in desiring what is lacking, and patience in suffering in this and other lives. What is patience by nature? It is that which is not disturbed by nature, does not harbor grudges, and does not hold resentment. What is patience that does not arise when others harm? It is that Bodhisattvas generate such awareness towards sentient beings who harm them: These are merely fabrications dependent on conditions. There is no self, no sentient being, no life, no being, no reproach, no anger, no beating, no fault-finding. Thinking in this way, one does not perceive them as sentient beings, but merely abides in the Dharma. Abiding in that perception of merely Dharma, one does not arise when others harm and endures. What is patience in accepting suffering? It is that the Bodhisattva trains in this way: In the past, when I sought the enjoyment of желаний, I experienced and endured many kinds of suffering for the sake of желаний that became the cause of suffering, such as plowing fields, doing business, and governing the country, which were all suffered meaninglessly due to ignorance. Therefore, it is reasonable to endure even more suffering than the billions of trillions of sufferings of the past in order to practice the virtuous deeds that will lead to सुख. What need is there to mention the smaller suffering than that?

Properly attending to it, the Bodhisattva endures all suffering in order to attain enlightenment. What is the forbearance of firm faith in the Dharma? It is when a Bodhisattva, with a mind that understands the true Dharma and diligently practices it, cultivates for a long time the qualities of the Three Jewels, the meaning of Suchness, the great power of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the cause, the result, the meaning of what should be attained, the means by which one attains it, and the sphere of activity that should be known, and having perfected extremely pure wisdom, generates extremely strong faith. What is the forbearance of difficult practices? There are three types: namely, the Bodhisattva endures the harm done by inferior and poor sentient beings; endures the reproaches of rulers; and endures the great harm done by sentient beings of low birth. What is the forbearance of all doors? There are also four types: namely, the Bodhisattva endures the harm done by friends, non-friends, and ordinary people; and endures the harm done by these three who are lower than oneself, equal to oneself, and higher than oneself. What is the forbearance of a great person? It should be known that there are five types: namely, the Bodhisattva first sees the benefits of forbearance; the person who has forbearance will not increase enemies later; will not increase those who cause discord; will increase happiness and joy; and will pass away without regret, and after the body is destroyed, will be reborn among the gods in the heavenly realms. Therefore, seeing the benefits of forbearance in this way, one also practices forbearance, encourages others to practice forbearance, praises forbearance, and feels joy when seeing a person who has forbearance. What is the Bodhisattva's forbearance in all aspects? There are thirteen types: namely, the Bodhisattva endures out of fear of experiencing the undesirable ripening results of non-forbearance; generates compassion for sentient beings; generates loving-kindness.
