Thus, and so forth, in order to counteract desire, it is shown to cultivate the ten perceptions, such as the perception of swelling. From "One should cultivate mindfulness of the Buddha" to "One should cultivate mindfulness of the deities," it shows the cultivation of the six recollections, namely, mindfulness of the Buddha, the Bhagavan, who possesses wisdom and feet, is a charioteer, a tamer of beings, an unsurpassed one, a tamer of men, a knower of the world, and so forth, through the qualities. What is called "One should cultivate mindfulness of the Dharma" refers to the Dharma of scripture and the Dharma to be attained. Among them, the Dharma of scripture refers to the recollection of the qualities of the scriptures of the Great and Small Vehicles, such as the Sutra Pitaka. The Dharma to be attained refers to the cultivation of mindfulness of the qualities of the Dharma of the fruit of stream-entry, the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, and so forth. What is called "One should cultivate mindfulness of the Sangha" refers to the eight noble individuals. The Sangha of the Bhagavan's disciples are those who abide in the noble path, are well-entered, are a great field of offering, are a field of merit, and so forth, and one should cultivate mindfulness of them through the qualities. What is called "One should cultivate mindfulness of morality" refers to the nature of guarding the three doors of the body and the four doors of speech, and abandoning the seven aspects of killing, etc., and one should recollect it through the qualities that lead to rebirth in the higher realms. What is called "One should cultivate mindfulness of generosity" refers to the fact that the result of giving Dharma, material possessions, and fearlessness is the cause of great enjoyment in the world and beyond, and one should recollect it from this perspective.

within, cultivate mindfulness of wandering in samsara. The so-called cultivation of mindfulness of renunciation is to contemplate the faults of birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, distress, turmoil, etc., which are causes of aversion, and thus be mindful of renunciation. The bodhisattva's mindfulness of renunciation refers to the fact that all dharmas are of the nature of selflessness, but children develop the thought of having true meaning and enter into them. Seeing this, bodhisattvas quickly contemplate in advance in order to make them understand, which is called mindfulness of renunciation. The so-called cultivation of mindfulness of death is also included in the cultivation of mindfulness of renunciation, but it is listed separately because it is a cause of even greater aversion. The so-called cultivation of mindfulness of the body is to not be attached to the body, and to contemplate that from the top of the head to the soles of the feet is filled with various impure things. The so-called cultivation of the three kinds of impermanence, etc., is to cultivate the thoughts of impermanence, suffering, and selflessness on the five aggregates of suffering. The so-called cultivation of the impure thought is to briefly cultivate the ten kinds of decaying thoughts mentioned above. The so-called cultivation of the thought of death, wherever the thought of death is mentioned, seems to be a repetition. What was said earlier is in the category of mindfulness, and this is in the category of thought, so there is no fault. Because there is nothing to be pleased about, cultivate the thought of not rejoicing in all the worlds, that is, one should not rejoice in worldly reasoning, all skillful crafts, and various arts such as the sixty-four arts. The so-called cultivation of the thought of untrustworthiness is because one has not truly seen that the three realms are a cause for attachment, so there is no desire for them. The so-called cultivation of knowing suffering is to say that, from the perspective of conventional truth, for all dharmas such as the aggregates,
