And greed, hatred, delusion, and jealousy, if all these are abandoned, one should contemplate the nature of non-substantiality. Not contemplating this is mindfulness of abandonment. When he practices the Perfection of Wisdom, those gods who are born from the retinue of the Four Great Kings up to the Others' Emanating Power, who have entered the continuum, are non-existent, they are the nature of non-substantiality. To contemplate and recollect this is to recollect the gods. This is the sixth recollection, the gradual activity of the six recollections. Since all dharmas are unborn, therefore one should realize the Perfection of Wisdom, so-called dharmas that grasp their own characteristics, namely the aggregates, elements, sense bases, limbs of enlightenment, perfections, up to all-knowing wisdom, are all dharmas. The statement "since they are unborn" means to know that they are unborn. One should realize the gradual activity, unborn is the nature of unborn, thus they are of no nature, and what has no nature is non-substantial. When he practices the Perfection of Wisdom, first relying on the generation of the mind of enlightenment, he generates faith in the dharmas of the nature of non-substantiality, and cultivates from the four mindfulnesses, the four correct abandonments, up to all-knowingness. Having truly understood the dharmas of the nature of non-substantiality, he turns the wheel of Dharma and completely liberates beings from samsara through the three vehicles, this is the gradual activity of the nature of non-substantiality of all dharmas, which is the thirteenth that has been taught. After that, the opponent should examine himself and give an answer, if one cultivates the Perfection of Wisdom and so on with the nature of non-substantiality, then this cultivation is fruitless, like a horse's horn, this is the opponent's statement. The answer is that all dharmas are immutable and unequal, immutable is the Dharmadhatu. Equal to that is all dharmas, it is not enough to just not cultivate,

If one focuses on the Dharmadhatu, it becomes the cause of the noble ones. If it is called the Dharmadhatu, then it has no result. Isn't it the case that what is called "self-awareness" has a self and consciousness? Therefore, if there is a grasper, there is also a grasped. So, the assertion that "all dharmas are without essence" is unreasonable, which is proposed by the opponent. And "all dharmas are without self, and consciousness is realized by wisdom" and so on, are the answers. The so-called "without self" and "without consciousness" mean that because they are separated from the characteristic of self, they are the aspect of selflessness. Because they are separated from the grasper and the grasped, they are without consciousness. The so-called "realized by wisdom" is because it is believed by valid cognition. The self is the knowledge of the nature of permanence and oneness, but form and so on are not like that. Therefore, the absence of self is established. Because it is separated from the grasper and the grasped, the aspect of consciousness is also not established, because that is the nature of the grasper. If there is no grasper, there is no grasped. Therefore, all dharmas are established as without essence. What is expressed by the sound of form and so on is form and so on. If these expressions also exist in the world, and there are terms that do not deceive the listeners, then the assertion that all dharmas are without essence is proposed by the opponent. And "all dharmas are mere names" and so on, are the answers. A name that is empty of meaning is a mere name. Therefore, when expressing all those dharmas, those appearances of mind have no meaning. Because it is recognized as external, it enters into the external again. The meaning of the external also does not exist, even if there is no external, meaning can be understood from sound. If the mind recognizes external objects from sound, then, for those objects, there is no substantial entity, because they are other and different. If they are not different, then even with intelligence, meaning can be obtained, and one will not be deceived. Therefore, because there is no substantial entity of meaning, it is expressed only by name and mere imputation of terms. If one temporarily thinks that there are only terms, then, the imputation of terms and so on.
