After seeing the characteristics of the sign of non-retrogression, starting with "By this truth, may madness and the like be pacified," if it is pacified, that is the seventh sign. Furthermore, from "Subhuti" to the end of the chapter, if some sentient beings are possessed and oppressed by non-humans, it is because they have entered inside. To this, the method of blessing by a Bodhisattva is: If I was predicted by the Buddhas of the past to attain unsurpassed Bodhi, and I have manifestly attained perfect enlightenment, and my superior intention is completely pure, and the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have no slightest ignorance, by this truth, may this non-human depart from here. If by the blessing of this truth it departs elsewhere, that is the eighth sign. The examination of skillful means is complete knowledge. The chapter of its meaning is the chapter. The commentary on the difficult points of the "Holy Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita," composed by the teacher Ratnakara Shanti (Śāntigarbha), called "Supreme Essence," the twentieth chapter. Also, from "Subhuti, in this" and so on, that is the chapter on the activities of Mara, the twenty-first. What is the occasion for those? For a Bodhisattva who has newly entered the Mahayana, when accomplishing the fruit by the blessing of truth, many Maras who generate perverse pride will appear, that is the occasion for this. Among them, "in this" refers to the blessing that was just shown. "Diligence" refers to the nature of Mara, being delighted for the sake of that thing. "Strength" is delight and ability. "Majesty" is the ability of strength. "Diligence" is the many self-conceits of oneself. Among "contempt" and so on, contempt is disrespect. "Mocking" is laughing from the heart. "Disparaging" is disparaging with the mind. "Reproaching" is seeing as inferior. "Belittling" is speaking of faults. The sound of "prediction" is the reason. In "will generate pride" and so on, here "also" means "all." "Will generate" is to produce. "Increase" is to cause to increase.

It is to be a leader. To show is to show. To expand is to expand greatly. To arise is to appear. That pride and so on, the nature of the mind being particularly high compared to others, is the general characteristic of pride, which has been explained before. Here, the differences between them should be stated: thinking oneself superior to those who are inferior is pride. Thinking oneself superior to those who are equal is excessive pride. Being proud of those who are particularly excellent is pride within pride. Without having attained the state of non-retrogression, the mind being proud that I have attained it is super pride. Furthermore, regarding qualities that are not of non-retrogression, saying that I have qualities is wrong pride. Seeing such great-minded beings, it should be connected with the following text. The remainder is the individual differences of those. Being bound by Mara is called pride. Furthermore, regarding what is said, such as "Raba Jor," stating the name is to state the name. The weak are those with dull faculties. The so-called "Aranya Dweller" and so on are the qualities of practice. Beyond a yojana outside the village is the aranya. Residing there is the aranya dweller. He eats only alms, so he is an almsman. He wears only rags, so he is a rag-wearer. He eats only near midday, so he does not eat after noon. He eats only in one sitting, so he is a one-sitting eater. He always sleeps on a seat that has been laid out once, so he is a wherever-lying person. He has no more than three dharma robes, so he is a three-dharma-robe person. He always dwells near the charnel ground, so he is a charnel-ground dweller. He always dwells under a tree, so he is a tree-dweller. He always dwells squatting at night, so he is a squatting dweller. Because there is no obstruction and there is opportunity, he is without covering. Because he wears only wool clothes, he is a felt-cloth person. Because he eats little, he is of few desires. Being happy with just a little is contentment. Being alone, he is extremely solitary. Being born into this visible dharma is the visible dharma. His declaration is to state. How is it? Saying, "You were also in the past," and so on. The word "also" is the meaning of "therefore."

Blessing is subjugation. The merit of cultivation can attract resources, like drawing a bow. Generating pride is the meaning of arrogance. The remaining merit of cultivation is like that, which is easy to understand. Then it says "Subhuti" etc., blessing with name, what is the name here? It is the sound of non-retrogression, and the sound of its merit. Subjugating with arrogance, arrogance is disrespect for the Guru. The so-called "who" refers to the Bodhisattva. The so-called "recollection" is to contemplate accordingly. This is the subsequent instruction, which is connected with the subsequent instruction below, and with recollection, what will my name become? Subsequent reflection, what will my name become here? Prophecy is saying that it will become a demon. Following, is wanting. Making it the same, is not deceiving. What deceives with what? Therefore, name and name are said. What will it become from that? It is said "flowing in samsara", that is, falling into evil destinies in this and that. If, this word "also" means جمع. Subtle, the so-called subtle, is difficult to understand. Solitary place is as previously stated. Forests, caves, cemeteries, grass piles, are distinguished by mutually corresponding pairs. The word "etc." refers to under the tree etc. Solitary place, because it is in a solitary place, it is a solitary place. Therefore, the borderland and not making a village, is a place where a village is not made. Solitude is emptiness. Becoming solitary is separation. In the village, it is nearby or on one side. Attention itself is solitary. Reliance is less attachment. Attachment is medium. Greed is great. Therefore, oneself is for stability, is especially entering greed. Mixing refers to householders and renunciants. Complete mixing means complete renu
