Among the Buddhas' teachings, do not make it great, do not make it small, do not make it powerful, do not make it powerless. Whatever form and so on, whether it is large or small, is not its homogeneous cause. Bodhisattvas are not characterized by conceptual consciousness. In this way, attaining enlightenment through non-attention is called the great meaning. The manifestation has been taught. The root of the transcendental path of meditation and the path of seeing is faith. What is its cause? Relying on the Buddha and giving, etc., and skillful means, these are the causes of faith in this. This refers to the Perfection of Wisdom. Relying on the Buddha means serving and respecting the perfectly enlightened Buddhas of the ten directions, and therefore coming here. From "From there, the son of Sharadvati," to "born here," it speaks of relying on the Buddha. Giving and so on, from "the son of Sharadvati," to before "the venerable Subhuti to the Bhagavan," is properly generating giving and so on. From "The venerable Subhuti asked the Bhagavan thus," to "diligence," is skillful means. Subhuti, furthermore, the vehicle of the Bodhisattva, from there, to "will fall into the hands of evil friends," is the action of being impoverished by Dharma. The causes of being impoverished by Dharma are: being oppressed by Mara, not believing in the profound Dharma, being attached to the aggregates, etc., and being possessed by evil friends. The causes of being impoverished by Dharma are four: being blessed by Mara, not having faith in the profound Dharma, being manifestly attached to the aggregates, etc., and being completely possessed by evil friends. Among them, Subhuti, furthermore, from the Bodhisattva, to "immeasurable, will be completely taken," is being impoverished by Dharma. Subhuti!

Beginning with what is called "supplication," and up to what is called "loss of mindfulness and lack of awareness," these are the causes of being impoverished by Dharma. When complete purification is explained, its characteristics are: the fruit is pure, form and so on, is the very nature of purity, because those two are not other, and cannot be separated, therefore it is called purity. As it is said, namely Subhuti, whatever complete purification there is from form to enlightenment, that itself is the complete purification of the fruit. Because those two are not other and cannot be separated, they are non-dual, which is another term for being unable to be made into two. Thus, it is called purity by this characteristic. Whose purity is it? It is the Prajnaparamita, which means the path of meditation. As it is said, this is how it is: the complete purification of form, the complete purification of the fruit, and the complete purification of the Prajnaparamita are non-dual, because those cannot be made into two. The complete purification of the Prajnaparamita itself is its object and its complete purification of the fruit. Namely, Subhuti, starting from what is called the complete purification of form, up to before what is called Subhuti, furthermore, what is said before that, non-dual, is unable to be made into two, this is the teaching. Not separate, not different, this is the explanation, this is the characteristic of complete purification. Its divisions are also four: afflictions, knowable, and the three paths, due to decline, the purity of disciples, Pratyekabuddhas, and the sons of the Buddhas, the Buddhas are all extremely pure. As it is said, disciples are hearers, Pratyekabuddhas are solitary Buddhas, the sons of the Buddhas are Bodhisattvas, the complete purification of those is, in order, afflictions and the conceptualizations of what is grasped, and not knowing existence in the three paths is the path, because of abandoning by the three paths. The Buddhas are the Bhagavan, this is extremely pure. The end is the boundary and the occasion, extremely surpassing from that is extremely pure, because of abandoning all obscurations together with habitual tendencies. All kinds means in all ways. Among them, these four words, Subhuti, furthermore, towards self and sentient beings...
