Abandoning sorrow and all possessions, being unyielding and without dependence. Thus it is said, a forest dweller is one who abides in solitude, for that is its fruit. Contentment is being content in all ways. Diligently guarding vows is not abandoning them. Abandoning sorrow and all possessions means generating renunciation and completely abandoning all wealth. Being unyielding and without dependence means having no fear in the mind and having no reliance on any things; being unyielding means having no fear. Ten, which will appear below, should also be added here. Therefore, the practice of the fourth ground is only these ten. Familiarity and attachment to household, as well as being a place of commotion, self-praise and disparaging others, as well as the ten paths of non-virtuous actions, being filled with pride and inverted views, indecision and tolerating afflictions. If these ten are abandoned, the fifth ground can be truly attained. Familiarity with householders and renunciates, attachment to household, that is, attachment to the household that should be approached closely. Commotion is improper talk. Praise is to praise. Disparagement is to scold. The path of action is the basis of action. Pride is being arrogant. Conceit is the body not bowing to elders. Inverted view is the wrong perception of things. Indecision is doubt. Tolerating afflictions is abiding in desire, hatred, and ignorance. By completely abandoning these ten dharmas, the fifth ground can be attained. Generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom are all perfected, for disciples and solitary realizers, abandoning the mind of joy and sorrow, not being timid when begging, all possessions, abandoning without regret, not abandoning beggars even in poverty, thus the sixth ground can be truly attained. Thus it is said, the perfections such as generosity are each completely perfected, thus there are six dharmas, similarly, being happy for the Shravakas, being happy for the Pratyekabuddhas, completely abandoning the mind of sorrow, thus there are three dharmas, not being timid when begging, that is, having no fear in the mind, not feeling unhappy even when abandoning all possessions, not abandoning beggars even in poverty, thus there are three, a total of ten dharmas.

Those two will attain the sixth ground. Grasping at self and sentient beings, life and person, annihilation and permanence, characteristics, cause, aggregates, elements, and sense bases, as well as attachment and abiding in the three realms, the mind clinging to permanence, to the Three Jewels and discipline, attachment to the view there, contempt for emptiness, and faults contrary to that, completely severing from twenty things, that one obtains the seventh ground. Knowing the three doors of liberation, the three circles being completely pure, compassion and without contempt, knowing that all dharmas are equal and of one nature, knowing non-arising and forbearance, showing all dharmas as one nature, destroying all conceptualizations, abandoning thoughts, views, and afflictions, definitely thinking of tranquility, being skilled in higher vision, the mind being tamed and in all things, unobstructed wisdom, in a non-attached place wherever desired, going equally to other fields, the nature of all self, and emptiness are twenty. Thus it is said, the word "twenty" after the second is completely fulfilled, which is the remainder. Completely severing from the twenty stains of faults such as grasping at self, etc., because the twenty qualities such as knowing the three doors of liberation are completely fulfilled, one will obtain the seventh ground, which is the meaning of the summary. Grasping is attachment, its object is from self, etc., to the sense bases. The so-called permanence is the seventh of the schools that mainly form a collection. The Three Jewels are the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, the view there is the view of the Buddha Dharma, etc. Attachment arising there is abiding. Contempt is weariness. Contrary to that is not being in harmony with emptiness. The so-called equality means the same. Grasping at self, grasping at sentient beings, grasping at life, grasping at person, grasping at annihilation, grasping at permanence, grasping at characteristics, grasping at cause, grasping at aggregates, grasping at elements, grasping at sense bases, abiding in the three realms, being attached to the three realms, relying on the three realms, abiding in the view of the Buddha
