Up to the state of omniscience itself. Therefore, there are nine aspects. In the sutra, it says, "What was spoken by Śāriputra," and so on, refers to what was asked by Śāriputra. "What was spoken by so-and-so," and so on, refers to the answer. "Secluded from desires" means being separated from the desires of afflictions, and because one does not fixate on the desires of objects. "Secluded from sinful, unwholesome dharmas" means that the afflictions of desires are the cause of desires, namely, the misdeeds committed by body, speech, and mind. "Accompanied by conceptualization and analysis" means that the antidotes to desires—conceptualization and analysis—are fully possessed. "Born of seclusion" means born of being secluded from desires. "Joy and happiness" means accomplishing the meaning of desires, and being accompanied by the joy and happiness of body and mind being thoroughly tamed. "Having accomplished the first dhyana, one abides" means entering into equipoise. "Abides" means experiencing it oneself accordingly. Similarly, "the second" means that the conceptualization and analysis are nearly pacified, the interior is purified, the mind-stream becomes one, and one abides having nearly accomplished the second dhyana, which is without conceptualization and without analysis. "That" refers to the yogi himself. Having seen the fault that conceptualization and analysis disturb the mind, one turns back from them and correctly holds the mind. "Conceptualization and analysis being nearly pacified" means by the power of samadhi. "The mind-stream becomes one" means that there is no uninterrupted arising of conceptualization and analysis. "Without conceptualization and without analysis" means because it has been abandoned in all of all. "The third" means that one abides in equanimity with mindfulness and awareness, having become dispassionate from joy, and experiencing happiness with the body, and the noble ones say of that one as abiding in mindfulness, abiding in happiness, and equanimity. "Having become dispassionate from joy" means because that is reasonable. "Equanimity" means abandoning the joy of conceptualization and analysis.

It is for the sake of the earth. Having mindfulness and awareness, this is because wisdom is practiced many times, and the occasion of joy is not distinguished. Happiness means the happiness of feeling and the happiness of extreme taming, and the happiness of extreme taming. Body means the body of form and the body of mind. Noble means Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Staying in happiness, this is the meditator, this is the remaining part. Fourth, that is, that happiness is also abandoned. Suffering has also been abandoned before, and because of the cessation of joy and displeasure, there is no suffering, and there is no happiness. The fourth meditation of equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness is practiced closely and dwells. In this regard, abandoning happiness is the fourth meditation. Suffering is the second. Therefore, it was said earlier. Joy is the third. Displeasure is the second. Follow from the beginning. Equanimity itself is feeling here, neither suffering nor happiness. Therefore, it is said that there is neither happiness nor suffering. Equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness are for the sake of attaining complete purity here. Therefore, the first dhyana has five branches, namely, vitarka and vicara are the branches of the antidote. Joy and happiness are the branches of benefit. One-pointedness of mind is the branch of the place of both of them. The second dhyana has four branches, namely, inner purity is the branch of the antidote. The remaining branches are the same as before. The third has five branches, namely, equanimity, mindfulness, and awareness are the branches of the antidote. Happiness is the branch of benefit. The rest is the same as before. The fourth has four branches, namely, complete purity of equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness are the branches of the antidote. Neither suffering nor happiness is the branch of benefit. The rest is the same as before. Taking the formless realm as the main thing, the infinity of space and so on are also preached. That completely transcends the perception of form, and the perceptions of resistance have disappeared.
