Furthermore, there is no pursuit of enlightenment and so on, and there is no cause for accomplishing all qualities by relying on the nature of the ultimate truth. Because of the complete weakness of wisdom, there are nine aspects of the basis of the imputed person who, due to attachment to the objects imputed to external opponents such as demons and to the objects of focus, gives rise to conceptual thoughts. These are to be abandoned by the mind and mental factors of the path of seeing when they arise. Thus, the opposing factors of the path of seeing are four types of ninefold divisions, so one should understand that their antidotes should also be well divided into four types of ninefold divisions. After that, the intermediate verses that explain how the path of seeing, along with its causes, accomplishes great enlightenment are spoken: Enlightenment is other-empty, Its cause is complete dedication, The uninterrupted cause for attaining it, Is the characteristic of great merit. Thus. Abiding in the path of seeing oneself, by showing these and so on to others, one establishes them in perfect enlightenment, and in order to prevent the scriptures of the Perfection of Wisdom, which are the sole cause of enlightenment for those to be tamed, from declining and increasing, one entrusts them separately. The uninterrupted cause for attaining enlightenment is the characteristic of great merit, such as the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom itself. The causes for this are threefold. What is the enlightenment attained from such a cause? The intermediate verses explain the nature of the result, great enlightenment: Wisdom enlightenment is said to be, Exhaustion of defilements and non-arising, Because exhaustion and non-arising, These should be known in order. Thus. Why is it that all phenomena are inseparable from the realm of phenomena, and like space, they are without cessation and arising? And whatever defilements there are, are the nature of singular and plural, and the causes of self and other, and the reasons such as the emptiness of the fruit arising from existence and non-existence, are like a lotus in the sky, without cessation and arising. Therefore, it is not established that those that existed before are exhausted and new ones do not arise.

Like a disease, the wisdom that thoroughly understands as it is what is exhausted and unborn from the beginning, the self-nature of its Dharmakaya, should be understood as the Great Bodhi. Furthermore, it is said that exhaustion and non-birth cannot be understood in any other way. In the nature of non-cessation, through the path called "seeing," what kind of conceptual thoughts will be exhausted? What kind of unborn aspect will be attained? It means that if one thinks that the destruction of things and their subsequent non-arising is exhaustion and non-birth, and therefore thinks that understanding exhaustion and non-birth is Bodhi, this idea is not reasonable. Because cessation is the nature of Suchness, it is the nature of non-existence from the beginning. The born and the unborn, in order, for things with the characteristics of exhaustion and obstruction of arising, with the power of your path of seeing, what kind of conceptual thoughts to be abandoned, what has already arisen before, has been exhausted? What is to be attained, the unborn thing with the nature of non-birth, what has arisen? In reality, there is nothing at all. Moreover, the path of seeing does not cause exhaustion and non-birth by its power, because it is based on the cessation of the nature of non-existence, it should also be said. Also, for that school, the established view is said to be contradictory. Other dharmas also exist, and it is also declared for the knowable, saying that obscurations are exhausted, etc., for this I am amazed. It means that if, like this, the characteristics of the knower and the known, the momentary dharma, its essence exists in the ultimate truth, then with its self-grasping that cannot be cut off and arise, like the sky, by practicing the antidote, it will not have any effect on them. Therefore, those who cling to the appearance of things claim that all dharmas are truly existent, but the Tathagata thinks that for those knowable objects, all aspects of obscurations have been exhausted, these two are saying very contradictory things, and I am surprised at this. So, how should this meaning be discerned? Through the intermediate verses, the doctrine of no self-nature is revealed, (the sutra) says: From this there is nothing to be removed, there is nothing to be established, truly observe the truth, if you truly observe
