Since it is in accordance with the aspect of discernment and is pre-existent, its four characteristics are proclaimed. For the noble Śrāvaka path: Because form and so on are empty, there is no difference between emptinesses, therefore the heat is invisible, and it is considered the peak. There, existence is prevented by means of permanence and so on, therefore endurance, starting from the ten grounds, is shown through the expansion of non-dwelling, and it is considered the highest Dharma. Why? Because after the Buddha knew, he did not see the dharmas. Thus it is said. Thus, form and so on, all those who realize and practice these dharmas, because their nature is emptiness, there is no difference between emptinesses, this is the characteristic of heat. Form and so on, as before, are invisible because of emptiness, this is the characteristic of the peak. Similarly, form and so on are not permanent or impermanent, etc., in this way preventing existence, this is the characteristic of endurance. Because there exists the measure of a person who sees all, the Buddha, after knowing all dharmas, did not see any dharma, therefore, starting from the Joyful Ground and so on, the ten grounds, not dwelling in all dharmas, showing through expansion, this is the characteristic of the most excellent Dharma. Therefore, it should be known that it arises in accordance with the aspect of discernment. After that, the Pratyekabuddha path will be explained, therefore, for the time being, it is declared how those paths differ from the previous paths, thus establishing: In order to realize the self-born nature, even if others instruct, it is not needed, like the wisdom of a rhinoceros horn, it is manifested as profound. Thus it is said. Self-born enlightenment, according to the difference of sharp, medium, and dull faculties, is divided into three. Those who, through previous hearing and so on, do not need the instruction of others, but can themselves realize their own enlightenment; and, as indicated by the word "also," even if teaching the Dharma to others, it does not rely on words, therefore it is profound. Because expressing in words is distraction, and the listeners will try to understand the skill of the speaker, therefore it is not easy to understand. In the scriptures.

So. The Shravakas attain enlightenment by relying on the teachings of others, and other beings also engage in virtue by teaching the Dharma with words, as it is said. How can one teach the Dharma without sound? To answer and dispel this doubt, it is said: What is the meaning of what, in what place, how does one wish to hear, in that place, that meaning, even without sound, appears as such. Thus it is said. Thus, the meaning of teaching the Dharma is to generate and increase the understanding of the meaning to be spoken in the mindstream of the listener, which is by the power of aspiration and so on, merely wanting to show, even without sound, whatever and to whatever meaning, in whatever way one wishes to hear, and as it should be, to the consciousness of that, that meaning also appears in that very form, therefore it becomes teaching the Dharma. This also, if spoken without discrimination and examination, the meaning becomes confused, and other than that, giving in words becomes verbose, this is because of reason. With these differences, the actual meaning of the path of the noble ones is spoken: To abandon the conceptualization of the object to be grasped, and because the grasping is not abandoned, the path like the rhinoceros horn with the support, it should be known as truly summarized. Thus it is said. As previously said, only meditating on the truth, and truly meditating on dependent origination, then one can abandon the conceptualization of the object to be grasped, that is, the clinging to ignorance, aggregates, self, etc., is completely pacified. This shows the difference in realization superior to the Shravakas. However, because one has not extremely familiarized oneself with the selflessness of all phenomena, one cannot abandon the conceptualization of the object to be grasped, because one has not separated from the clinging to the characteristics of the aggregates, etc. This shows the difference inferior to the Mahayana. And it also has the difference of relying on the practice of the profound Dharma nature such as wisdom, etc., thus, the correct summary of the Pratyekabuddha path, the Bodhisattva should know through the door of non-objectification. Which are those that are in accordance with the part of the definitive division that precedes this path?
