If one accepts the fourth view, which is that "it performs only one function," it is very unreasonable. For, if it is said that without producing a moment of its own kind, it will not produce its own consciousness for the eyes, etc., then it will clearly lead to the fault of becoming blind, etc. Even if one accepts that it produces its own consciousness, since the lineage of the eyes, etc., is cut off, after one moment of consciousness, there are no eyes, etc., and no consciousness. Therefore, beings will effortlessly attain the state of being blind, etc. Therefore, whatever is dependently originated is not an object of ultimate investigation, but is a pleasing illusion. For example, like an elephant, etc., conjured by a magician. All these things, such as form, etc., are similar to that, which is the reason of nature. It is not an unestablished reason because dependent origination is seen as it is seen. It is also not contradictory because it exists in the similar side. It will not become uncertain because the valid means of harming the dissimilar side is shown in the previous way. Thus, since this reasoning depends on conditions to act, just as it is fabricated, so too is the body of the Bhagavan established, and it is enough to be very elaborate. Because it depends on the proximate cause, it depends on the cause. Because it is born from the co-operative cause, it depends on the condition. Because it becomes the object of appearance of the power of the roots of virtue of the beings to be tamed, it is completely accomplished by many practices of the roots of virtue. As it is said in the sutra, the necessary meaning of discriminating the Dharma is "Son of lineage, where do you come from?" and so on. Because, in the order just explained, all dharmas are unborn and unceasing. Because you truly know through realizing the path of seeing. Therefore, by knowing that the opposite of the characteristic of clinging to things is the inverted and selfless, thereby abandoning it, and abandoning the afflictions and knowledge that are its root.
