All three perfections are also obtained in the correct order of generating wisdom, such as hearing, in a manner that is appropriate. Similarly, in order to extensively explain, starting from the perfection of wisdom itself, which is related to these, the Blessed One said to Subhuti: "Subhuti, manifest the four individual self-realizing wisdoms." Thus, the Blessed One gave instructions to the venerable and long-lived Subhuti. In the extensive explanation: The first point is that by the power of lineage, the seed of compassion is awakened; by the perfection of application and intention, the mind of enlightenment is fully grasped. In this way, by the power of lineage and so forth, and by correctly taking the bodhisattva vows and so on, generate the mind of enlightenment that has the essence of emptiness and compassion, and make the aspiration: "Having become a fully enlightened Buddha, one should, as appropriate, strive to teach the Dharma by the three vehicles for the benefit of others," and complete it with perfect practice. Therefore, the characteristic of wanting to attain perfect enlightenment with the aim of benefiting others is that it has both cause and effect. Just as the difference between wanting to begin and wanting to proceed is understood, similarly, the wise should understand the difference between these two in sequence. Therefore, the nature of aspiration and engagement is twofold. Joy is great and activity is great, meaning is great and arising is great, it is the mind of a bodhisattva, it is the arising of a mind that has two meanings. As it is said, the mind that is in accordance with the mind, appearing and arising in a special object, is it not the mind of enlightenment? The desire for perfect and complete enlightenment itself is striving for that goal, and it arises from the mind of desire for virtuous Dharma, so how can it be the mind of enlightenment? Although this is true, if one sees helpless beings drowning in the ocean of suffering, and with the virtuous thought of wanting to save them, strives for the goal of having the characteristic of desire for Dharma, then, because one will become a Buddha, this is generating the mind of enlightenment, so here the cause shows the result. The Bodhicitta that desires and strives in this way

It is also faultless to rely on approximation in order to know that all virtuous dharmas of power will increase. Alternatively, aspiration is to strive for, it is the desire for perfect and complete enlightenment. The arising of the mind that acts together with it is indicated by its sound, because striving is the main thing, so it is the time of generating the mind. Thus, it is reasonable that bodhisattvas generate that mind endowed with aspiration. Then, what is the nature of what is desired, and for whose benefit is the mind generated, that is, perfect and complete enlightenment, and what is the benefit of others? It should be told as in the Sutra of Twenty-five Thousand. Among them, the concise explanation of perfect and complete enlightenment is: Shariputra, here the Bodhisattva Mahasattva wants to manifest perfect and complete enlightenment in all aspects of all dharmas, therefore he should respect the Prajnaparamita. This is what is said. Among them, the detailed explanation of this is: Shariputra, here the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in the Prajnaparamita in a non-abiding manner, because there is no attachment to the giver, the object of giving, and the receiver, so he perfects the Paramita of Giving in a non-abandoning manner. This is what is said. Among them, the concise explanation of the benefit of others is: The Bodhisattva Mahasattva in each of the ten directions, in worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, wants all sentient beings that exist to attain Nirvana in the realm of Nirvana without remainder, therefore he should study the Prajnaparamita. This is what is said. The detailed explanation of this is: The Bodhisattva Mahasattva wants stingy beings to practice generosity, immoral beings to observe morality, and beings with much hatred to be patient, therefore he should study the Prajnaparamita. This is what is said. Thus it is said: Generating the mind is for the benefit of others.
