Also remembering, even for hundreds of eons, even for countless hundreds of thousands of eons, even for countless hundreds of millions of billions of eons, I remember that I have been dwelling in such and such a place. The name then became such and such. The race then became such and such. The clan then became such and such. The food then ate such and such things. The time then dwelt for such a long time. The end of life then became such a measure, and I died from there and was born in such and such a place, and from there I died and was born here, with form, with place, with reason, in many ways remembering the previous dwelling place. With the pure and superhuman divine eye, one also sees beings dying and being born. One also fully knows the ugly and not ugly colors, the good and the bad, the comfortable and uncomfortable places, and the beings who go according to their karma. Fully knowing that these beings are endowed with evil deeds of body, evil deeds of speech, evil deeds of mind, slandering the noble ones, having wrong views, and because of that cause and condition, after the destruction of the body, they fall into evil destinies and are born in hell. Fully knowing that these beings are endowed with good deeds of body, good deeds of speech, good deeds of mind, not slandering the noble ones, having right views, and because of that cause and condition, after the destruction of the body, they are born in happy destinies and are born in the heavens. Because of the exhaustion of all defilements, the liberation of mind and the liberation of wisdom and the undefiled, one fully knows as it is, these ten are the powers of the Thus-Gone One. Subhuti, what are the four fearlessnesses of the Thus-Gone One? After vowing that I have realized perfect and complete enlightenment, if there is any saying that I have not realized enlightenment in this Dharma, whether it is a virtuous practitioner, or a Brahmin, or a god, or a demon, or Brahma, or any other assembly of beings, possessing Dharma in the world

I do not see any valid reason for anyone to refute me. Because I do not see any valid reason, I enjoy the state of having attained happiness, being without anxiety, and having attained fearlessness. I make a vow in the most excellent place, and I roar the lion's roar in the assembly. I say that in the world, whether it be a renunciate, a Brahmin, a god, a demon, Brahma, or anyone else, I will thoroughly turn the wheel of Brahma, which cannot be turned with Dharma. If I vow that I have exhausted the defilements, then for me to say that these defilements have not been completely exhausted, whether it be a renunciate, a Brahmin, a god, a demon, Brahma, or any other assembly of beings, I do not see any valid reason for anyone to refute me with Dharma in the world. Because I do not see any valid reason, I have attained happiness, being without anxiety, and having attained fearlessness.

Or, whether it be a renunciate, or a Brahmin, or a god, or a demon, or Brahma, or any other assembly of beings, I do not see any valid reason why they would oppose me with the Dharma in the world. Because I do not see any valid reason, I have attained happiness, freedom from anxiety, and fearlessness, and thus I act freely, and I vow to occupy the most excellent position. I roar the lion's roar in the assembly. I shall turn the Wheel of Brahma, which no renunciate, Brahmin, god, demon, Brahma, or anyone else in the world can turn with the Dharma. These four are fearlessness. What are the four individual correct knowledges of the Thus-Gone One? They are: individual correct knowledge of meaning, individual correct knowledge of Dharma, individual correct knowledge of definitive words, and individual correct knowledge of eloquence. What are these? They are: focusing on meaning, focusing on Dharma, focusing on definitive words, and focusing on eloquence. Subhuti, what are the three unguardednesses of the Thus-Gone One? The Thus-Gone One has completely pure bodily conduct and is endowed with it. The Thus-Gone One does not have impure bodily conduct, so the Thus-Gone One does not think that someone will know and need to conceal it. This is the first unguardedness. The Thus-Gone One has completely pure speech conduct and is endowed with it. The Thus-Gone One does not have impure speech conduct, so the Thus-Gone One does not think that someone will know and need to conceal it. This is the second unguardedness. The Thus-Gone One has completely pure mental conduct and is endowed with it. The Thus-Gone One does not have impure mental conduct, so the Thus-Gone One does not think that someone will know and need to conceal it. This is the third unguardedness. What are the three close intentions of the Thus-Gone One? When the Thus-Gone One teaches the Dharma, some listen attentively, respectfully listen, and attentively receive the teachings.
